Aroy Thai Eatery - Lower Hutt — Restaurant in Wellington

Went with friends for lunch. Waited to order at the counter, no bell? So, after waiting at the counter to order, called out to the one person I saw, who was at the back putting together takeout orders; turns out he was also the cashier, restaurant order taker, as well as waiter serving dishes to the tables. Sheesh!

My friend's orders came out quickly so I assume there must have been numerous people at the back.

Suggestions: A bell at the counter would be helpful for people waiting to order, rather than having to resort to calling out, crossing the "staff only" tape (apologies for wanting to order food), to get the attention of the one person who, unbeknownst to me was doing everything apart from...

Very disappointing. The woman serving was quite rude and abrupt. My Larb Chicken was the worst I have ever had. Served hot with what looked like gravy. No trace of mint, coriander or lemon grass and far too sweet. The Massaman curry seemed as if the potatoes had been boiled and then thrown on top and the chicken seemed to be sliced roast chicken. The other dish was the Duck Noodle soup which my companion (a Thai) said was not as good as it was the other time he went. Won't be going again. There are far better Thai restaurants in...

I miss Thai Express, cheaper, quick, great serving sizes, nice people, and more options. Aroy is still tasty and quick, nicely renovated since Thai Express, but today I had half an onion that wasn't cooked had to pick every piece out, meal was luke warm. Roti and satay sauce - don't get enough satay sauce compared with the amount of Roti (less than what you got with Thai express).. Again Aroy is still tasty, good serving sizes good place to try but since its a chain across nz, its just not what it was, the old faithful...
