Mint Cafe — Restaurant in Wellington

Went to Mint on a Sunday morning, not very busy. Firstly, i used the restroom and i must say the state of this toilet is horrendous. Now, before you reply and go on to say its used by the public, the public are not to blame for the build up of dirt along the floor edges, the grime up the walls and layer of thick dust on the plastic plant. This level of cleanliness unfortunately spills out into the cafe, with dusty shelving and skirting boards. When i told the girl at the counter she nodded in agreement and that seemed to be the end of the conversation. I reluctantly ordered a coffee and cabinet food and my mother ordered the fishcakes. My coffee was haphazardly dumped on out table without so much as a glance from the waitress. My coffee cup was swimming in a pool of spilt coffee, im guessing the waitress didn't notice as that would require her to look our way when she served it. My cabinet meal was brought out straight away, leaving my mother without her meal to sit and watch me eat, I asked the girl if she could reheat my meal when my mothers was served as they should be brought out together, she obliged, responding that its hard because cabinet food is ready sooner.. i said yes but you shouldnt heat it until the kitchen food is ready... its honestly not that difficult. You need to up your game mint, the only advantage is the location but if you want a decent meal with proper cafe service i would suggest venturing another 5 minutes further and go to...

Don't take your dog! My dog needed a drink, we were in the outside area. The waiter 'lost it' seeing her drink from a plastic cup. He refused to refund me or give me my iced coffee. They were appalling with conduct, no one listened to me when I requested this. I was TOLD to pay for the cup, refused service and refused a refund! The manager had the audacity to say I was rude to staff! NEVER AGAIN! Toilets are always filthy too from various times used. In response to this dishonest comment below, who obviously can't stomach honest feedback! I came inside with my dog - post staff refusing to provide my drink or money back! I did NOT racially abuse staff, they were abusive to ME!!! And YES the Toilets are always filthy I've been a customer prior and they're always a complete disgrace!!! YOU'RE LUCKY I DIDN'T CALL POLICE due to everyone IGNORING MY REQUESTS TO PROVIDE MY MONEY BACK OR DRINK I ORDERED AND PAID FOR. NO THERE WASN'T A DOG BOWL OUTSIDE FOR MY DOG! There is definitely something wrong with yourselves thinking you can treat a paying customer with such contempt! AND YOU DON'T SEEM TO BE CAPABLE OF RUNNING A CAFE WHERE YOU ADHERE TO...

I visited Mint Cafe today (Labour weekend Sunday) and arrived just after 11am. The cafe was not extremely busy. I placed my order from the items that I viewed in the cabinet and was the only person ordering food at the counter at that time. Shortly after finding my table and sitting down, the staffmember who served me came to my table and told me that they had run out of the item that I had ordered. I would have thought that if previous customers had ordered items from the cabinet then those items would have been removed immediately. However, I changed my order only to be advised moments later that another item I had viewed in the cabinet was no longer available. Not an efficient service. The coffee I ordered was delivered at least 15minutes before all my food and the food, when it arrived, was mediocre at best. There seemed to be sufficient staff on duty but the staff member taking orders at the counter appeared somewhat flustered. I don’t think i will be wasting my money at Mint Cafe again...
