There is a lot to like about this Hotel, however there are some issues.

I arrived in Wellington after 12hrs of travelling. Unfortunately, I checked in just as a conference had been let out. The line to Check In was queued right back, down past the elevators. And it was a very slow moving line, with only 1 staff member at the counter. Finally, another staff member joined, and the line moved a bit quicker. The lady who checked me in was extremely courteous and detailed in her information and directions.

My room was on the top floor, on the southern side of the building, at the very eastern end. The room was billed as having fantastic views. Unfortunately, whilst you could see a little bit of the runway and of the distant ocean, the predominant view was of the large Airport Roof. I can't help feeling that if I had had a room further along towards the western side of the building, the views would have been far better.

I had been allocated a Accessible Room, which felt very light and airy, but had an open, tiled bathroom, which I personally hate. The first impressions of the room are very good. With a lovely colour palate and soft furnishings. The large king bed was extremely comfortable, with good quality, clean linen. A large wall mounted TV, which had a decent range of channels, plus the option to cast from your phone. There was also a huge range of movies you could choose from, including new releases. The Internet was very easy to connect to, and it was extremely reliable. I had no problems streaming and downloading stuff. I loved the fact that there was a sofa that you could sit on to watch TV. It was nice having somewhere to sit that wasn't the bed. In the wardrobe, there was a tea and Coffee making station, plus a bar fridge. No in-room Mini Bar, but there was the option to order items to be delivered to your room.

So overall, there was a lot of good. However, there were some issues -

The bathroom was a shocker. I ended up with an Accessible Room (not sure why). It had an open tiled shower. The shower curtain was far too short (and I mean short!), which meant there was no way to stop water spraying out all over the bathroom. The whole floor was soaked and would be lethal if I was actually disabled and had a fall on the wet floor. Had to use all the spare bathroom linen to mop up the excess water.

Cleanliness in the bathroom was an issue. There was mold beginning to form on the tiles. There was also a heap of Soap Scum all over the Shower Head and Rainfall Head. It was so bad in places, it was actually blocking some of the shower head outlets.

The telephone was faulty. Trying to order room service was frustrating. It just would not place a call, and when it did, it would just drop out. It's really annoying. Also, the Hairdryer was broken and didn't work as it should.

When looking closely, you could see the room was looking really battered. No doubt Hotels, in particular Airport Hotels, have a hard life. But some paint goes a long way.

Unfortunately, my room was right beside the elevators, which made for a noisy night.

When I checked out very early the next morning, I did mention some of the issues I encountered to the sole staffer at the desk. He didn't seem all that interested, but he said he would "look into it."

At $380.00, I felt the room I got was a bit of a letdown. For that money, I expected far better. Not so battered, a lot cleaner, and fixing some of the broken items. I booked the most expensive room, advertised as having amazing views over the Sea ans Runway - it was quite the let down to be allocated a room overlooking the roof and carpark, with smallest glimpse of the runway. It felt unfair given the price I had paid.

I would stay again, but only if the price was right. I certainly would not be forking out extra for their 'premier' South...

The rooms at Rydges Airport Hotel are spacious, comfortable, and well-appointed. The beds are cozy, providing a restful night's sleep. The room amenities are thoughtfully provided, including a flat-screen TV, a mini-fridge, and a coffee maker, adding convenience to the overall experience.

One of the highlights of my stay was the soundproofing in the rooms. Despite the hotel's proximity to the airport, I was pleasantly surprised by how peaceful and quiet my room was. It allowed me to relax and unwind without any disturbances, ensuring a rejuvenating stay.

The hotel facilities are excellent. The fitness center is well-equipped, allowing guests to maintain their exercise routines while away from home. The on-site restaurant offers a delightful dining experience, serving a variety of delicious meals prepared with fresh ingredients. The breakfast buffet was particularly impressive, offering a wide selection of options to suit every palate.

I recently had the opportunity to stay at the Rydges Wellington Airport hotel and I must say, it was a pleasant surprise. One of the standout features of this hotel is its location, right within the airport terminal in the check-in area.

The convenience of having a hotel located within the airport itself was truly remarkable. After a long flight, it was a relief to know that I didn't have to go through the hassle of finding transportation or wasting time traveling to a hotel. Instead, I was able to simply walk from the arrivals gate to the hotel reception, which made my stay incredibly convenient and stress-free.

The hotel itself was well-appointed and comfortable. The rooms were spacious, clean, and had all the amenities I needed for a comfortable stay. The staff was friendly and accommodating, ensuring that all my needs were met. The hotel's design and decor were modern and stylish, creating a welcoming atmosphere.

Despite being located in the airport, I was pleasantly surprised by how quiet the rooms were. I didn't experience any disturbances from the airport noise, allowing me to have a restful night's sleep. The soundproofing was excellent, which was an added bonus.

In addition to the convenient location, the hotel also offered a variety of dining options. Whether I wanted a quick bite or a more formal meal, there were several restaurants and cafes to choose from. The food was delicious and the service was prompt and friendly.

Overall, I was highly impressed with my stay at the Rydges Wellington Airport hotel. The convenience of its location within the airport terminal, the comfortable rooms, and the excellent dining options all contributed to a wonderful experience. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a convenient and comfortable stay at...

Absolutely! Here’s an expanded and more positive version of your review: --- I recently had the pleasure of staying at Rydges Airport Wellington, and I must say, it was a delightful experience! The hotel boasts a modern design that truly enhances the overall atmosphere. One of the standout features for me was the conference room, which offers beautiful views that create an inspiring environment for meetings. It’s the perfect blend of professionalism and comfort. The hotel room itself was incredibly comfortable, making it a great retreat after a long day of travel. I appreciated the attention to detail in the room's design, which added a touch of luxury to my stay. While the food options in the airport departure lobby were somewhat limited, I found the variety to be sufficient for a quick bite before returning to my room. Everything closes very early, only subway was still open which made my dining experience quite enjoyable. However, I believe there is room for improvement in the staff service at reception. While the team was friendly, I felt that the check-in process could have been smoother and more efficient. Overall, my experience at Rydges Airport Wellington was wonderful, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone traveling through Wellington. The combination of modern amenities, comfortable accommodations, and stunning views makes it a fantastic choice for both business and leisure travelers alike!
