We were looking forward to trying out Peppermill as it was highly recommended by my colleague. The cafe is nice and just by looking at it we thought we could bring our other friends there next time. However, after the average experience we've had, we don't think our friends would enjoy dining at Peppermill. The young lady who served us was unfriendly and service was slow. I enjoyed my big breakfast and we all agreed the chips were nice. My girlfriend ordered the prawn salad and when it came, it didn't have the prawns in it. She asked the waitress if there were prawns in the salad and she said yes. The waitress left and came back a couple of minutes later with a plate of prawns. Apparently the chef said that he forgot to add the prawns! My friend also noticed that the salad had no dressing! If not for the prawns, it would have been totally dry. My husband and my friend's partner both ordered the beef burger except my husband wanted medium rare and my friend's partner, well done. My friend's partner wasn't impressed when his burger had a partially burnt pattie. My husband said his burger was ok. Overall we had an average experience. They might want to improve their service and remind their staff to be friendly and focus on their customers' orders. My friend asked for extra hot water with her coffee but it never came. She had to ask for it again and when she did get it, the waitress took away her cup leaving my friend with a tiny jug of hot water. It would have been hilarious if we were not already frustrated with...

As a vegetarian, I’m always on the hunt for places that offer more than just the usual options and Peppermill truly surprised me! I ordered the beetroot hummus and avocado toast on multigrain bread 🥑🍞 served with a fresh side salad and honestly, it was both healthy and incredibly filling. Every bite had that perfect balance of crunch and creaminess.
Their mocha was a complete winner too. rich, smooth, and topped with the cutest teddy-face art 🐻✨ (I almost didn’t want to ruin it!). The coffee tasted as good as it looked, easily one of the best I’ve had in Wellington.
The staff were so kind and welcoming, and the café had such a cosy, relaxed vibe, perfect for a long, lazy brunch. I ended up sitting for over an hour just soaking in the atmosphere and enjoying my food.
And oh! their freshly made triple chocolate mousse was an absolute dream! So light, creamy, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious, definitely worth saving space for dessert.
If you’re looking for a vegetarian-friendly spot that does justice to flavour, presentation, and good vibes Peppermill Café is your go-to! 🌸 Highly recommended for brunch, lunch, or just a great...
Read moreJust had the terrible misfortune of going to this awful cafe. I waited 49 mins for a Ceasar Salad & then had to ask for cutlery. We had a table of 8 people & the Manager told us to leave because my special needs Grandson had been quietly playing with his spinning top on the floor, not in anyone's way or around any other patrons in the restaurant. We ordered 8 meals of which nobody got to eat because of the big scene the Manager created & then yelled at us to GET OUT. Unbelievable service ....& my x husband paid the bill for food we didn't even get to eat. I will be going to the papers about this. This was a family gathering, going away lunch for my son who is returning to university in Canterbury tomorrow. My mother was visiting from Australia after attending her brothers, my Uncle's funeral on Monday 5th February. It was a solemn gathering & to be treated & spoken to the way we were is astounding. We have been regulars at this Cafe, since it first opened & will not be...
