We ordered cheese vada pav, veg fried rice and veg Hakka noodles through order meal at 5:39PM. On the email it said it would be ready by 5:54PM. We were already on our way there and when we got there the lady said 50 minutes. I had to really make sure the timing was correct as she was struggling with her English. She said another 5 minutes but it took another 10-15 minutes. We got all that for takeaway and luckily we checked inside to see no fork or spoon. Only tissues. They must think we are gonna eat with our bare hands to not include any utensils. They shouldn't assume we're gonna take our food home and eat with the utensils we have. Annoyingly we had to turn back to go in and ask for forks and it took 3 people to find seemingly the only 2 forks in the restaurant. One of the ladies just chucked one of the forks on the counter where everyone places their hand, I was genuinely disgusted by that because I felt it was unhygienic and yet they have an A grade for their place given by Auckland council. It's quite fortunate their food tasted good. We had a lot going on that day and thought to look forward to some good food but to go through service from that place where people don't understand what you're saying, making faces at you, chucking utensils at you when they should have put them in the takeaway bag as a courtesy anyways, really sucks for them. I definitely wouldn't recommend coming here unless you're okay to go through...
Read moreUsually I don't write reviews but since the owner of the restaurant started to argue with me when I gave feedback about his food, here is my honest opinion. First basic learn the customer service "Uncle". Yesterday ordered Aloo Pranthas and Chole Bhature but got this surprise. it looks like a big Puri which is not fried properly. Paid $22 for just 2 pranthas, thought is going to be very special but instead was full of red chili powder and half cooked around the corner. Thought I should tell him about the food but he turned a normal conversation into argument. But on the positive side got free cooking lessons, how cool. There is always a room for improvement, such a shame you can not handle criticism....
Read moreI have become more comfortable ordering food than dine-in since labour shortage of this hospitality industry. So one day I craved for Vadapav and any restaurant would do since I never get the authentic taste of India anywhere in NZ. I got Vadapav from Atithi, took one bite and felt the real taste of Mumbai Vadapav. After that I tried Dabeli, Bhel and Khaman Dhokla. It never failed to satisfy my tastebuds. Major factor, Atithi’s Vadapav doesn’t have farsan in it which makes it proper Mumbai Vadapav. And Dabeli is absolutely “ohohoho bhari”.
I accept the fact that I never got sweet or any chutney with Dhokla but as long as they’re maintaining the authenticity of food, I am Okk with no...
