. (01/2018) A beautiful park conveniently located in New Lynn with entrances from different roads. There is interesting history behind this park and the railway track alongside. The wood from very first bridge is still preserved in form of a beautiful Timber Bridge sculpture near Olympic Park Velodrome. More information around the park history is provided on a board around near the entrance from Portage road. The park is clearly divided into different sections including a playground for children, Velodrome, Badminton court, soccer & athletics and spider sanctuary. This park is dog friendly. There is, in fact, a dedicated dog run section. Waitahurangi stream passes through the middle of this park and there is dedicated viewing area provided to enjoy this stream. This stream connects to Whau stream at one end. The views around streams are incredible. There are multiple artworks installed throughout the park including many amazing sculptures and structures. Some of them are Hinaki, Art Bridge, Crossroads, Pou and Waka with Waitahurangi stream connecting all of them. The tracks around this park are well maintained. Seating and benches are provided at regular distances for taking rest and enjoying the views. A good place to enjoy on a sunny or clear day. Good for groups, kids, families, meditation and quick visits. Due to central location, it can get busy around evening. Easily approachable from different roads and conveniently accessible. Spacious parking areas are provided around different entrances at regular distances from different direction and roads. Ample parking space is available at all the parking locations. Wheelchair parking is available and there are wheelchair accessible entrances. Public restrooms are available at this park mostly near the parking spots. Enjoyed...

Olympic Park in New Lynn is a fantastic recreational space that caters to all age groups. The park is well-maintained, with lush greenery, clean walking trails, and plenty of open spaces for picnics and outdoor activities. The playground is a highlight, featuring modern equipment that keeps kids entertained for hours.

For fitness enthusiasts, the park offers a great jogging and cycling track, along with outdoor exercise equipment. The presence of a small stream and wetlands adds to the scenic beauty, making it a peaceful spot for a leisurely walk or relaxation. There are also well-placed seating areas and picnic tables, making it perfect for family outings.

One of the best features is the skate park and basketball court, which provide great options for teenagers and sports lovers. Parking is generally easy to find, and the location is convenient, close to public transport and shopping areas.

Overall, Olympic Park is a hidden gem in West Auckland, offering a perfect mix of nature, play, and relaxation. Highly recommended for families, fitness lovers, and anyone looking for a peaceful...

Olympic Park offers a great outing. It has different play areas for the kids, and some amazing sculptures and art installations by local artists hidden throughout the expansive park. There are benches along the way, it's paved/wooden walkway throughout (so pushchair friendly), and mostly level. There are some beautiful kowhai flowers and a tree with twisted branches. I saw a mamma duck and her ducklings and some fluffy chooks. The downside is that the gates are closed because of L3. If you enter from Portage Road, you have to go over the bridge and the water stinks of raw sewage. If you enter from Wolverton (where there are yellow lines and no parking, good for drop offs), then you can avoid that. I wasn't able to orient myself and find all the art work, which is a bit of a shame, but a good reason to...

It's a good place for kids and children to play with different physical playing stuff. This park has swing, sand pit, rope climbing, and basketball practice facilities. It also has well decorated walking track or paths for everyone who loves to walk in the green grass. Also, benches are available for sitting down or relaxing. There is a beautiful bridge that connects the playground with the main park. It has a public toilet for male and females, but most of the time, I find it dirty - so our community people should use this toilet with their hygine common sense, as if other can use it after their use. Recommended for toddlers and walking 🏃 lovers.

One of the best parks in the area. Parking is free within the park. The park is accessible from 3 sides. Sculptures in the part are great to look at. The walk way is great around the part. Kids playing area is a good size and different activities to cover all age range. The Olympic ground itself is huge and one an run on the tracks if nothing is going on the ground. A great place to spend an afternoon there.
