The ultimate smashed burger; the one that set the standards of what smashed means in my mind, and that's why they remain in my Top 3 burger spots in Auckland. What I've always loved about Baby G is that they focus on doing one thing right - they've only got 2 burger options (most of the time) and the only real differences seem to be sauces and onions. It's not a place with 10 different types to choose from; you get one of those two or maybe some special menu item (if it's not already sold out) and you know you'll like it.

On this note of the two, I have learned that for me, I should just stick with the regular double cheeseburger instead of the Oklahoma Dreaming. The mustard, maple, and hot sauce combo with a more onion patty is still good, but a bit too overpowering in the senses. Like, when I first brought it up to my face, I could smell the maple and I was really excited to see what a maple burger might be like, but that taste never distinctly came through over the mustard. Regardless though, I still always love it and the patty char where it got really thin. The buns are always super fluffy and they stick together very nicely rather than disintegrating in your hands like some other places. The only thing that would really make it over the top great for me would be a more toasted garlic bread bun; if it did have it, it was overpowered by the sauces. PS: they do have fries too if you want them, but on this visit I was only...

I have been meaning to write this review for a while, I saw today someone left them a 3 ⭐️ review over free ketchup and decided today was the day. Baby G Burger is awesome. They are the best burger place in New Zealand by a mile. We discovered them through one of their pop up events and are so grateful they now have a brick and mortar store. The burgers are perfection, you don’t need a wide range on a menu when everything on your menu is exceptional. I also love the dinner feel, it is always clean even when they are incredibly busy (which is a lot because once again they are awesome), I love all the plants and how they take the time to alternate the tray color. It’s has been really fun to watch them succeed, to see them shut down on sell out rather than supplementing their supply’s with subpar ingredients to allow them to stay open for regular hours, to sell the best classic burgers and then, branch out with these incredibly complex burgers that will make you come back time after time. The loaded fries can be a meal in itself, and those jalapeño bombs, well they are the 💣 I also like love that they make my dog pepper enjoy her dinning experience and always thank her for coming in with a treat or two. I wish you continued success and I am sure we will eat there...

This is THE place for smash burger lovers or just anyone who loves good food. These burgers are fantastic, with unlike anything else being done to this calibre in Auckland. Special mention - the Oklahoma dreaming burger, I was skeptical at first but the saying goes always trust the chef, this combination of sweet and spicy works perectly with the crisp juicy patties. Don’t sleep on the options to add fried halloumi to any burger either, surprised this isn’t more common! All other burgers are great, selling out quickly so make sure to order in advance or show up early on busy days. The Jalapeño bombs have ruined any other Their fries are always crispy and although im trying to eat less carbs I keep finding myself endless chomping them down. The atmosphere, vibe and music at their Avondale spot makes this a true gem of the area with such friendly staff, always down for a nice chat - they manage to keep remembering my name, something I am unable to do with others even after meeting someone 3 times. I’m looking forward to seeing how Baby G continue to develop their delicious menu. Overall this place is incredible, accept no substitutes from other places, and always go with...
