To the owner of the restaurant,
I am sad to say that today ...I had a terrible experience because of Satish.
I have been visiting this restaurant for many years and have loved the food and experiece each time when Dhani has catered to me, at your restaurant, in all my visits. I've seen Dhani interact with other customers and I wish to tell you - he is an asset to your business. I hope you are paying him a salary that's at par with his skills - as his service is 10/10.
Today around 8:15/8:20pm, i entered the restaurant and was attended by Satish (owners son) . When I entered the restaurant, I told him I was by myself and would like to dine in. Satish said sorry there is no place and you will need to do a take away. I asked Satish while pointing to the tables of 2 asking him when will these be available (as I saw 2 ladies almost completing their meals) to which he said, they will take time and its reserved for 2 people who are yet to arrive. I reluctantly agreed to take away my order as I was ordering jhol momo's - which are best consumed when hot.
Satish also mentions - the momo's will be cold but the curry will be hot. I was surprised as I have never had the momo's cold at this restaurant. I asked Satish - can you ensure the momo's are hot. He does not even look me in the eye and continues to punch in the order saying, sorry - the momo's will be cold !
Anyway, I stepped out and sat in my car while I waited for my order to be ready for collection. I called the restaurant immediately as I sat in my car - Satish answers the phone and I asked is there a table for 2 available in the next 5 minutes and Satish said, yes - it will be available.
I went back into the restaurant, I saw the 2 seater table where the women were - empty and confronted Satish (owner's son) - who as was planning to pack me off with a takeaway order just because I was a single person occupying his 2 table seater - asking him is that table available - he said no again ! I said I just called you up asking you if a table for 2 is available and you said yes over the phone and you are still saying no to me. Satish's response was- its a no show - you can take that table. I'm quite shocked !
You have lost me as a customer today. I felt horrible knowing that I was not welcomed to sit and eat (even after agreeing to wait for a table). While Dhani has been working at this restaurant for so long - this guy knows me by face. Dhani has a warm and a welcoming energy v/s Satish who was cold as ice - it gives me a feeling that Satish is forced to work here and his lack of interest in catering for his customers was so obvious to me .

Read moreWorst ever eating out experience. Stood in the queue for 15 minutes to be served. When I was served, my instructions to the waiteress was to get me some water, drinks menu and the food menu. The waitress thence starting serving the rest of the queue and completely forgot about us. When I enquired about 15 minutes later as to when I was getting the menu, especially the drinks menu as my my little girl was very thirsty. At this point a man came out to confront me... when I asked if he was the Manager, he could not answer. I told him that my question was a very simple one... was he the Manager or not?. He kept in hesitating and did not know whether he was the Manager or not. I have frequented this place but this type of service, or lack of it, deserves my review. NOT A EXPERIENCE I WANT EVER.. A very big thank you to Gurvinder Singh & Chef Anil for coordinating all our special requests and guiding us throughout the whole process from choosing the menu to helping us out with the delivery from Auckland to Waihi with ease. Big thanks to Anil again for setting up very professionally at our wedding venue - the whole process of delivering food and setting it up for us was a huge help and we greatly appreciate all your efforts! The food was of course a very big hit, especially the yummy starters chicken lollipop & harra-bharra kebab. The Veg Manchurian was loved by all, best tasting food ever!!
