Really good large park.has a great fenced playground for children. Including an area for toddlers and primary aged children. Has water play area as well, a tree in the middle for shaded seating and seats around the side. Just outside this area there are a few picnic tables, fenced BBQ area, toilets and a waterfountian with bottom area with a dish for dog water. There is a large native bush area with a gravel walking loop and a cut through dirt path through the bush as well. Around the large loop is outdoor fitness activities. There is a dog agility course area on the far side of the large loop as well. There is a shallow river that runs on the side closest to the carpark with a bridge that links to the cut through path and dog agility area. This is a large dog park which a majority are walked under control off leash so.if you child does not like dogs it is best to avoid as there are always a large amount of dogs in a walk. There is a coffee car on the road by the toilets most days that does good coffee with all types of milks and alternative milks the lady who runs this is lovely and kind. Lots of on street parking and has a decent sized carpark as well. Just up the hill from green bay Beach as well and shops up.the road to.grab lunch or some sausages and bread for the BBQ.

I drive past Craigavon Park several times a week, and finally decided to make a pit stop. On the Portage Road side there is a big, fully fenced playground, with wide open spaces, picnic benches, BBQ -, and toilet facilities. It's a great dog and kid friendly park. There are no steps, and it's pretty much even throughout. There are work out stations and equipment throughout the park. There is a carpark, as well as roadside parking. As you head towards Kinross Ave, it becomes denser. You can choose to stick to the wide road with some awesome native plants on the side, or you can opt for smaller tracks. This leads you to the middle of the jungle (it's the only word I can think of!). There is a pond and a stream that runs from end to end. It is quite dark and dense in places, and the humidity just envelopes you. The walkways are well maintained, or the more adventurous people can go totally bush and create their own tracks

Awesome dog park, so many friendly dogs come here to meet each other for the first time or see again their regular dog friends. Can have your dog on or off their leash. Lovely open bush walk can also take your kids here to play at the playground. Some exercise stops for you to get a little workout in 😉 some Awesome big fields you can let your dog off to play catch or just get some cardio in for the dog and yourself 😉 in the centre theirs a playground for the dogs to play in, quite basic but fun for smaller dogs I've noticed. BYO water bottles as no water taps around. Public toilets next to the playground. Lots of off street parking around the entire park or at the kids playground.

Nature, Space, and Serenity – Craigavon Park Has It All!

Craigavon Park is one of those places that instantly makes you feel like you've escaped the city without actually leaving it. Tucked away in Blockhouse Bay, it’s a beautiful, spacious park perfect for families, dog lovers, or anyone needing a bit of green peace and quiet.

The walking tracks are well-kept and wind through native bush, giving you that "forest feel" right in the suburbs. There’s a great balance of open spaces and shady spots, with plenty of room for kids to explore or dogs to roam in the off-leash area.

What makes this park stand out is how tranquil it is – birdsong, towering trees, and a real sense of calm. There’s even a fitness trail if you're keen to mix a walk with a workout, and lots of benches if you just want to sit and soak it all in.

It’s clean, peaceful, and safe – a real gem for West Aucklanders. Whether you're there for a stroll, a picnic, or just to reset your mind, Craigavon Park is always...
