Do NOT come here is you are solo. You are invisible and you will be ignored. Tried this place twice and both times felt angry and frustrated at the lack or NO service. First time, i got seated it took over 30 min of everyone around me getting served untill finally I pulled someone as no one had come to see me. Neither to take a drinks order or food. At that point I ordered both as I felt I wouldn't see anyone again. I was right. The food itself takes a life time to come, overall it was 2 hours of me sitting there solo waiting, with no service Inbetween. Second visit, again stood waiting to be seated for what felt like a life time and even then no one actually came it was someone shouting to me from the bar. So i was sat in a corner Inbetween two huge groups of people. No way to exit the table as there were chairs and people pushed up every side off me with the back of thier heads basically over my table. From last night as soon as I got seated I ordered my food there AND then before I even sat down i didnt even look at the menu. And again not once did anyone come to me to speak to me, to refill my drinks or ask if everything was OK. On both days it seems the staff just waited on everyone else, didn't look at you and just turned thier back on you every single time purposely. Never any eye contact so you coudlnt even call them. This was NOT a nice experience at all and both times I just wanted to be out of there. I do not recommend at all and if I revisit svalbard I will not be going back to...
Read moreNot being one for leaving reviews I feel that in this instance it's justified to let people know what's going on here... A week ago me and a couple of friends was here for drinks (you can find both of their 1 star reviews below mine) and I had my phone stolen by Robin the barman. I only noticed that my phone was missing shortly after leaving so rushed back to check on the table I was sitting but it wasnt there, luckily my friend rang it and we could here it ringing from Robins direction... at this point he was looking very guilty, red faced and embarrassed. He handed it back to me and we left after a few choice words was exchanged.
At the time I felt it was fair to wait for an appropriate response from the owners before submitting a review, and finally we have had a response that I think is disgusting!!! The owners defend Robin by saying he must have picked the wrong phone up after joining us for a drink at the time because it was dark and both phones looked the same. This is utter nonsense, Robin invited himself over to our table for a drink and there was no other mobile phone around to get confused with.
This barman, Robin, is a thief and should be sacked... Simple!!! As long as he works there everyone needs to be aware to keep all belongings...
Read moreWell, we visited here last night for a couple of beers as we were in Svalbard for the day.
All was going fine and we’d a few drinks, when Robin the thieving barman got chatting with us.
We were there till 2am when it closed and then went to our room, which was in the same building.
Then one of our party noticed his phone was missing, so we went back to the pub to have a look for it. Robin the barman was acting very strange at this point, we then proceeded to ring the phone and low and behold the barman has stolen it.
Whilst all this was going on Robins ‘friend’ came across and started to get quite aggressive, at this point so did we. Robin returned the phone, we had a few choice words and we left.
I must say the lady who I believe was the manager, looked extremely embarrassed and angry.
My advice is AVOID this place at all costs. As it may end up costing you more than...
