Ordinary Food | Decent Location | Skip ————- Detailed Review Below —————
There are two things that one should approach with caution: (1) ordinary food, and (2) food chains. So naturally, if you find a food chain outlet that also serves ordinary food, feel free to drop it like a hot potato. Esquires Coffee is one of those places.
I went to this place looking for a decent breakfast and good coffee.
I ordered their mushroom omelette (fairly ok), but things started going bad when it came to the coffee. I ordered a flat white and was served a coffee drink in a cafe latte glass (200 ml), with nearly 1.5 inch of foam on top. I called the waiter who just stared at me when I explained this was not what I had ordered. Then another person came, said he was the head barista, and promised to make me a proper flat white. Two minutes later, I got a drink in the same glass with less foam now but the milk completely flat. I thanked them for their efforts, paid, and left.
In their defense, I walked into two other places after this and threw away there as well, so this place is definitely not worse than any of its close-by competitors.
Verdict: Skip if you are particular or finicky about your coffee. Otherwise, enjoy!

Read moreI visited the Dolmen Mall branch of Esquires Coffee yesterday. I ordered a pain au chocolat, but the waiter informed me it was unavailable. I then asked for three milk cake slice, only to be told that is also out of stock.
However, as I was about to leave after my coffee, I noticed four pain au chocolat displayed at the counter. When I asked if they were expired, another staff member confirmed they were not. This raised question about why I was told that Pain au Chocolate is unavailable in the first place.
It seems there may have been a communication issue, and it would be helpful for staff to consult the kitchen when they’re unsure about menu items. In contrast, I have had excellent experiences at the Zamzama branch, where the staff is attentive, friendly, and actively engages with customers. I was incredibly disappointed by the service and the behavior of the staff at Dolmen mall's branch. As a big fan of their pain au chocolat, I have always promoted it to my friends, but this experience has completely changed my perception. I was looking forward to enjoying my favorite item, and now I feel heartbroken. I doubt I will ever return to the Dolmen Mall branch again.
I hope my feedback can contribute to improvements in service at this...
Read moreSo disappointed by the scamming staff there. I usually go there with my laptop to work so I wasn't expecting what happened the last time I went:
I met up with a friend there around 8 PM and we both only got one drink each a mint lemonade and a caramel latte of sorts. When it was time to pay the bill, we were told that the card reader isn't working, the receipt printing machine is out of service, and that the bill is of rs 1800. I told him I didn't have enough cash on me and would need to go to the atm, and the waiter asked, "How much cash do you have?"
Who even asks something like that? Why would it even matter how much I have if it's not enough to cover the bill he verbally told me? My friend immediately felt something was weird so he told me to stay while he withdrew cash. I decided to wait downstairs. My friend came back, went up alone, and directly to the cashier where the printer was working just fine and our real total was around rs 1100.
I understand we're in a recession along with inflation, but this is nuts. I'll probably just service myself next time rather than rely on waiters if this is how things will be...
