I am ready for the flak, but it is what it is. Haji Idreesâs Nihaari isnât all that.
I know for some people, specifically, jinhay tail mein doobi hui nihaari pasand hai unk liye itâs the best nihaari that Karachi has to offer, but not for me!
The location is so off ughh! Getting there was a challenge and I wasnât anticipating that. You might need to park your car nearby and walk by foot or hop into a rickshaw.
The family hall was just a small, congested room. I think there were what, 7 or 8 tables?
And you need to eat fast fast, because thereâs an audience standing there, drooling over your food, mentally counting your niwalas and judging you for every second youâre not eating and making you feel guilty. The pressure was real! Two ACs were there for decorative purposes.
As for the nihari itself. What can I say. If you closed your eyes, youâd think youâre having any random/generic salan drowning in oil, with a kacchi laal mirch kick.
Will I go back đ€ Absolutely not. Iâm not going to some cramped, sweaty room for oily salan pretending to be nihari when Waheedâs Nihaari is just a better, more accessible option.

Price: Single serving of sada nihaari...

We asked the waiter for the price of a single plate and he just rudely told us 'yeh upar price list lagi huwi hai khud parh lo' and just walked away.
Ignoring it we just checked out the price and thought of ordering one double nihari but since we weren't sure of the portion we called the guy again and asked him double 3 bando ke liye zyada toh nahi hojayegi? Again this dude responded mujhe nahi pata tumlog khud dekh lo kitna khana hai and just turned his back more than his answer the way he said it was very insulting.
After that we just decided to get and go to sabri instead.
Wouldn't recommend this to anyone unless you don't mind stupid people behaving...
