Contra Coffee Shop — Restaurant in Lahore Cantonment Tehsil

Contra is a place that I decided to visit because I loved how the branding was done. As a graphic designer with crazy ideas, it was their logo that made me curious to visit and find out how their food would be when I visit.

So I decided to visit with a couple of friends, we ordered food and had a great time. The interior has been nicely done. I notice small details to a place and I really loved the lighting and mirrors at the entrance. The confectionary and coffee counter also looked neat and nice.

One item I clearly remember on my order list from that day was their "Forrestberry and Pomegranate Granita".

The drink had a vivid flavor to it. I loved it and visited again on a long tiring day to unwind from work and to feel refreshed. It was really good again.

I visited again today for the third time and ordered the same drink again. The taste was maybe similar but something was really wrong with the contents inside the container today. It looked like a dirty mixture of things and all the ingredients were weirdly suspended inside the container. There was watery stuff towards the bottom and some foamy stuff above it...the kind of stuff that wasn't even passing through the straw.

I have had good experiences at Contra before. I also understand tht even good places sometimes have bad days..but I just realized today that I paid Rs.759 for a drink that looked like a weird colloidal suspension with settled layers, did not taste very good and was definitely not worth the price.

I don't know what to say, or if I should recommend the place or not. I definitely know that I experienced inconsistency in the quality of...

The cafe decor and food was good Visited last evening on 30th jan 2022 sunday before maghrib

Their furniture, crockery were tasteful and food served eventuslly was good However Service is quite substandard!

We ordered drinks, mains & desserts. For family of 5

Firstly 2 drinks came which were not ours & were sent back. Then only 4 out of 5 drinks came. I guess it took longer for last drink, which came in the middle of mains!

We ordered potato wedges as side of one main . Initially the waiter said, they are being prepped-fair enough and then brought chips instead.when we asked he said, they have ran out of wedges. That can happen to the best of us! Then in desserts we ordered 2 flavours of cookies. Only one came. After 5 mins of waiting we reminded him about second cookie but he said both were brought but on our insistence, he told us same thing that they have run out of the other ordered flavour but he will go & check.

Then came with another cookie and a brownie. We pointed out that we did not order brownie, so he took it away and then came back with brownie that it is complimentary!

So we thought it was nice!

I find this service quite below average I may give them one more chance but I am thinking that good restaurants with good food can be let down by poor service.

I gave him some tip despite poor service! I never raised my voice but told him to tell us if some ingredient is missing rather than bringing a replacement of their liking- maybe the customer is allergic to the replacement.

Contra management should look...

Three levels of seating with three different Ambiance styles. Ground floor then the first floor which is my favorite in terms of best Ambiance (three types of seating styles) and a rooftop seating which is also amazing and enjoyable with fresh air.

Contra serves Coffees, teas, frappes, shakes, pastries, brunch, sandwiches, and more which can be enjoyed at any moment of the day.

I tried Caramel Latte which was amazing, also tried black coffee in which I choose French Press, this one was the best and I liked it, the way they serve makes it more unique.

And then we decided to try Dulce de Leche Frappe, which is a Caramel Frappe and as a Caramel lover, this was one of the best frappes I had. Do you like Cheesecake? Yeah, me too. The lotus Cheesecake was absolute heaven in taste, it was fresh and the staff recommended us to try it, and I am glad that we choose it, it tastes so good with French Press.

The staff was a nice and humble, professionally trained staff.

I will visit this place again soon to try new things. This place is a go-to with friends or family or even you can go alone if you need some me-time.

Prices are affordable and are exclusive of VAT. Recommended...
