So me and my friends went to 2 Broke Engineers for lunch. First thing, they had a limited number of menu cards which were less than the number of seats in restaurant. The menu card was very ordinary. Colorful printing on a lightweight matte paper. In my point of view, atleast the restaurant can print enough menus as much the seating. The place was giving very good vibes but it was noisy. I preassume it was because of the lunch hours. Anyways, coming to food, I ordered Moroccon Chicken with Mashed Potatoes because well i had no choice other than Mashed potatoes (tho i prefer french fries). My friend visited this place before and he said "Their Mashed Potatoes are better than Fries. You are gonna love it because they serve mashed potatoes with a cheesy layer on the top" So i was sure it was gonna be best. Thankfully Moroccon Chicken turned out pretty great in taste. Loved its spicy sauce, just the way i like it. Other than that, mashed potatoes were a total disappointment. My friend said "They have changed their mashed potatoes because it wasnt like the ones he had last time" Other than Moroccon Chicken, my friends ordered Mexican Chicken Steak, Mushroom Chicken Steak, Parmesan Chicken Pasta, Schezuan Chicken, Honey Sesame Chicken, Beef Chilli Dry, Beef Chilli Onion and 2 Broke Special Beef. 2 Broke Special Beef was the best of all the remaining dishes. Mexican Chicken Steak was pretty average. All the remaining Chinese Bowls were pretty ordinary or lets say "Not as good as the ones we have at GINYAKI" So if you are in town for Chinese, No one can do it better than GINYAKI. Lastly, their Parmesan Chicken was the worst. It was dry and bland. Since only the dish I ordered was good, i am rating it 3 stars. Or else i would have given it a worst and...
Read moreNow I know why it's called 2broke because the type of food you guys serve I'm sure nobody would want to pay for it. Horrible horrible service with extremely bad tasting food. Astaghfirullah I don't want to say that about rizq but spending our hard earned money and getting such tasteless food is just extremely disappointing. I'm never visiting again nor recommending anyone.
We ordered their tom yum chicken soup which was average and extremely sweet for some reason. Yes it's supposed to be a bit sweet and sour but not that sweet! Next for mains we had two honey mustard chicken with sides of mashed potatoes and fries plus a Chinese bowl. The honey mustard chicken was so disappointing and tasted so basic, the chicken was dry and the mashed potatoes were lathered in vinegar or something which made it taste sour as heck. Even tho we were ravenously hungry we couldn't finish the food. My cousin who also ordered the same except for mashed potatoes she got fries which they only brought (after remaining them three times) at the end of the meal when we were asking for the bill. The fries were so greasy!! We can have way better fries from a thayla outside. Then moving on to their chinese bowls my other cousin got their rice bowl with beef chili dry, the rice were hard and uncooked chewy raw. The beef wasn't cooked well either. He also ordered a 7up which they also got while we were waiting for the bill (we returned it). Moving on to the service, it took them 30+ mins to prepare the food and that too was a disappointment. Not to forget their service was soooooo slow. Literally the table next to us complained of the same slow service + uncooked and cold rice. Overall the owners really need to hire another chef and pay attention...
Read moreI'm absolutely delighted with my experience at 2 Broke Engineers! The Hi-Tea was perfect, and the ambiance was so calming and welcoming with its minimal aesthetics. I loved that they had a wide range of dishes from both Chinese and Continental menus.
Starting off with the starters - I preferred the Spicy Honey Wings over the Prawn Tempura. The wings were super fresh, well-cooked, and had just the right amount of spice. I'd give them an 8/10, while the Prawn Tempura was a 7/10.
The Chicken Corn Soup was also an 8/10 for me. All the Chinese dishes were spot on and tasted exactly like they should. But the Continental menu was the real showstopper!
The Alfredo Pasta was incredible (9/10), and the Lasagna was the highlight of the meal (10/10). The Sautee Vegetables were also a 10/10, while the Panini and Sandwiches were just okay at 7/10.
In the salad section, the Russian Salad was my favorite at 7/10, while the Channa Chat, Gol Gappy, and Macaroni were just average at 6/10 and 5/10.
Onto the desserts - they had a huge variety! We loved the Mousse and Three Milk Cake the most. However, the Gulab Jamun could be improved (the cardamom flavor was overpowering). Also, the tea had been sitting in the kettle for too long, so it tasted weird.
Lastly, the only major downside is that they don't have a restroom, which is a bit of a bummer.
Overall, It was worth every penny and I'd definitely go back! If you've visited Mindanos and tried their Hi-Tea, you can expect a similar experience at 2 Broke Engineers, but at a slightly lower...
