El Jardín Vegetariano — Restaurant in Bella Vista

Unfortunately the food served to me was lukewarm borderline cold. I’m not sure if that’s how it’s supposed to be served but I was a bit disappointed based on the endless reviews. It is buffet style so maybe they need a better heating structure to keep it warm because it was as if the food was sitting out for hours which made me eat 2 bites & discard it. They do have plenty of vegan options as the other reviews mentioned & it is really cheap/affordable. However, I would advise before you leave to check the temperature of your food so that you aren’t stuck with cold food. If it was warm, I would say that it would be good because the flavors were there but I was too hungry to ask them to make fresh batches of any of the dishes I ordered and left unsatisfied. Amazing little Fonda with a huge selection of vegetarian and vegan, Asian-inspired food with a very, very good price! The best place to eat I‘ve been in Panamá City!

It is a little bit hidden, a few meters away from the street but you can spot it from there. They offer something like a buffet with plenty of different vegetarian and vegan options and you can choose whatever you want, each portion costs 0,70$ and they are not small. I felt full with 3 portions and thought they were pretty tasty.

Negative is that they serve everything in take-away non-reusable plastic-plates but the sitting ambient is ugly anyway so I would recommend to grab the food for take-away. If you are able to you can bring a reusable box and get your food in there.

I've eaten there a couple of times and the food is pretty good. It's a bit bland but certainly you can't complain for $0.70 per portion so you can have a good meal for $2-$3. The lady at the register is always smiling and very friendly though the guy who I assume is her son who serves the food is okay but not very friendly and I guess the guy who is her husband always seems to sit at the table and never looks up or smiles or talks even when I greeted him. but you go for the food so if you like vegetarian food you'll be happy with this place. They're mostly vegetables and noodles but they usually have several of those fake meat dishes if you like that sort of thing. Nothing fancy but solid and real food....
