The room was spacious and well designed. It was a plus to have a full kitchen with a stove and a large fridge. The washer and dryer were a definite benefit. The breakfast offered lacked variety but the taste was acceptable. What should be improved is the omelette section. Two persons at least should be making omelettes on mornings. One who caters to meat eaters, and one who caters to those who do not. For example, I do not consume pork for religious reasons, so I could not have an omelette done as ham was an added option for the omelette and everything was done in one pan without washing in between. Having two omelette sections, would solve this problem. The hotel is situated in a prime location, and is within walking distance of a Metro Station with taxis frequenting the area consistently. It's location offers a variety of places to eat (I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND MCDONALDS!) Wendy's is a good option for a quick and tasty bite with reasonable prices and combo deals. Overall, the service at Torres De Alba was adequate and I would return again.

Upon our arrival, the problems started. They couldn't find our reservation made through booking. The two girls at the reception came unconnected with hotel reservations. We gave them the reservation code and they couldn't find the reservation or provide a solution. One said she spoke English but only she understood what she was saying. The other girl named Tamala treated us with arrogance as if we went to stay at her house after an hour and since there was no solution, I asked to see the hotel manager. A polite gentleman came and after asking for our reservation code, he provided a solution in five minutes. Tamala didn't greet us once in the 8 days we stayed there and looked at us with a frown. Unfortunately, the girl is not a hotel receptionist. She deprived you of all 5 stars from my review. All the other staff, although they didn't know English, were very friendly and helpful.

This has been my favorite hotel over the last 27 years-- the 'rooms' are, in effect, fully furnished apartments, including a fully furnished kitchen and washer -dryer. Additionally, the price includes a wide variety of breakfast offerings; including cold & hot cereals, fruits, eggs, sausage, stewed beef, pancakes, cassava, etc. Note: Between 1988 and 2001, and then again 2006-2008, I had spent a substantial time in five-star hotels in nearly 45 countries-- whilst on business trips-- and although most were of high quality, none could compare with the comfort and convenience offered by Torres de Alba and as such reasonable rate. Note: On this occasional I was attending an ONG convention and I shared the apartment with another conventioner.

My husband and I have discussed visiting panama for some time and when it came time to book our flight we had requirements. Since we are traveling with our six month old daughter we would need a washer, dryer and a kitchen. This hotel was in the center of the city with our requirements and affordable prices. We booked our trip two months in advance and prepared the minimal room thinking it looked great in the pictures. We were wrong. Arriving at the hotel at 9pm we came to a very dated and worn room. The couches weren't green but had black worn in patches in the fabric, the kitchen was so dated and constantly made dripping sounds, the bedroom had really old beds with lumpy mattresses. Needless to say I lost it. The next morning we had them arrange for us to go to the upgraded room because I refused to spend two weeks in that room, we spent $200 extra. If it were my husband and I, we would have been fine, but with a baby I needed a better environment. The upgraded room was on the 23rd floor of the new tower with the most amazing views of the city. The floors were clean, the kitchen updated with granite countertops, the bathroom all stone. I was extremely pleased with our room. Their amenities could use some work. Their pool for example is poorly designed, half of it is under the old tower. Plus it is super small and placed in a spot that never gets sunlight. Their breakfast every morning jumps from being good to passable. Their gym is amazing! The best gym I have ever seen in a hotel. Lastly their underground parking is constant protected by security so if you rent a car you don't need to worry about vandals, but parking in is so unorganized and mishmashed. Oh and the hot water in our room would stop working almost every night, we had to call it in once. The area around the hotels provides a great assortment of places to eat, a big supermarket a few blocks away, and a metro a few blocks away. We used the metro nearly the entire trip and only rented a car for two days. We visited the city of Gorgona to go swimming and although it was hard to find it was great. Panama has been a great vacation with a lot of good and...

WiFi. Just wanted to get that out of the way. It was awful. If the rest of the experience hadn't been excellent, I could not recommend this hotel at all. It was so bad that I turned my phone off of airplane mode and created a hotspot to use my computer. But even that was pitiful, so maybe Panama City just has terrible phone AND internet service? If you're planning to work from your room, think again.|In the middle of a lengthy trip, this hotel is an oasis of 'just like home'. A kitchen, real washer and dryer, adequate warm shower, good bed.|Breakfast on the 2nd floor terrace was good every day with fresh fruit and many hot choices.|Nearby restaurants were convenient. It wasn't until we were leaving that we saw there is a restaurant on the ground floor by the lobby. There are little stores nearby for things you might want in the room.|The 3 towers were very confusing at first. The trick is that tower 1 is in the middle and all towers connect on the 2nd floor (terrace level). |My Spanish is 'beginner' at best. There is at least one desk clerk with excellent English and my first conversation at the desk brought him quickly to rescue my feeble attempts. The breakfast staff was very kind to respond in their best 'beginner - level' Spanish... and a smile.|Overall, the hotel was a good value and centrally located....

I visited the hotel just for breakfast on March 4th been they said they only have Bofe on Tuesday when we got to the front desk we ask if there's Bofe he said yes we told him because that's the only thing we wanted to eat, it was only 9am. He charge us so much money 3 of us and when we went up to the 2nd floor breakfast area lines was so long we stood in line for at least 20min until we got to the breakfast buffet then all the bofe is gone and no more Refills the cook said that was it. A lot of people very upset and arguing who stood in line for so long to after find out there's no more bofe when that's what everybody wants because it's the best of all there to eat and only 1 day in the week Tuesday. The least they could've done is stock up until 11am when breakfast ends it wasn't even 10am. Smh is unacceptable. We went back to front desk and told the same guy who took our money and tell him there were no bofe as he said and he just ignored us said nothing not even an apology as if we're not asking him a question. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! THEY TOOK OUR MONEY FOR SOME STALE EGGS...
