Restaurante Gran Yong 雍華食府 — Restaurant in Bella Vista

Great chinese restaurant at the heart of downtown! For those living in the city, you know that the vast majority of authentic chinese restaurants are located in the Dorado / Condado del Rey area. Gran Yong is located in Obarrio, which is much better location for people living in the area of San Francisco / Costa del Este / Bella Vista. etc.

I have eaten in this place at least 5 or 6 times already and every time I go, the food quality just gets better - I also try different dishes in each ocassion. The menu is huge, so let-s see say offer a vast variety of choices for different people - from the classic chow mien, fried rice, roated porks , to the more less known dishes for non chinese people - like stir fried bean sprouts (dou miao). Service has been good, unless you go in the peak time on a friday night and order behind everyone on the queue, otherwise, dishes come out in a decent fast manner.

Edit they do have a decent amount of parking spaces and offer a vaet...

Early evening weekend night, stopped in and were the only visible customers. Attentive staff took our order, and our honey sesame chicken, vegetable fried rice, and shrimp with vegetables arrived without delay. Food was okay, chicken was well seasoned but dry and the garlic shrimp had very little garlic taste. Expected more with the prices of these entrees, 16 and 28 respectively. Vegetable stir fry was excellent. When we asked for the Jubilado discount on our bill, this was the first restaurant (in 3 months) that declined even with our temporary Jubilado IDs. Interesting for sure, continuing to learn for sure.

Una noche de fin de semana, nos detuvimos y éramos los únicos clientes visibles. El personal atento tomó nuestro pedido y nuestro pollo con sésamo y miel, arroz frito con verduras y camarones con verduras llegaron sin demora. La comida estaba bien, el pollo estaba bien sazonado pero seco y los camarones con ajo tenían muy poco sabor a ajo. Esperaba más con los precios de estos platos principales, 16 y 28 respectivamente. El salteado de verduras estaba excelente. Cuando solicitamos el descuento de Jubilado en nuestra cuenta, este fue el primer restaurante (en 3 meses) que se negó incluso con nuestras identificaciones temporales de Jubilado. Interesante, sin duda, y seguiré...

Highly recommend the Salmon Bento Box, its an explosion of flavor. Flaky and Crispy Skin, accompanies by a salad and Rice. Also highly recommend the Mushroom and Octopus Appetizers, they were phenomenal. Very attentive staff, beatiful ambience, perfect view, and perfectly leveled music. If you do not eat with chopsticks, order a set of silverwear as they do not include them...
