When looking through the restaurant I thought it was decently priced restaurant but when looking at the menu it blew my mind on how much the the meats, fish, and the main course cost. We were looking for new restaurant to try on a Wednesday night and we saw that Makoto had great review with 4.7 stars and was open at night. When arriving to the restaurant we were greeted by friendly staff and when entering the elevator 🛗, we were confused at first since the elevator are brand new with advance technology, so we had to wait for the elevator to close than press 1 twice to go to floor 11 were Makoto was. We were sited quickly to our table and the restaurant was pretty empty but when going to balcony it was filled with people. It was our first time trying the Makoto so we order different type of dishes such as Chicken Ramen 🍜 , Frosty Rice 🍚 , Miso Soup, Mochi Ice Cream 🍨 , Rock Shrimp Tem 🍤 , Short Rib Yaki, Tbone 🥩 , Unisushi Stbarb , Baked Alaska, Aged A3 and Savage Blonde. The chicken ramen was delicious, the noodles and broth was excellent but the meat was kinda dry, it didn’t have that juicy meat taste. The Frosty Rice has nothing special, it just had more topping than a regular fried rice 🍚 . Miso Soup wasn’t that great but I don’t like Miso Soup in general. Mochi Ice Cream was very but it only had 3 ball of Mochi which was kinda disappointing for 12$. The Rock Shrimp Tem 🍤 was succulent but at a price of 21$ it’s very expensive for some fried shrimp 🍤. Short Rib Yaki was probably most flavorful dish there was in the menu. Tbone 🥩 was good but the Inst worth the 100$ price point, aswell as the Aged A3 that costed 110$ but the most ridiculous out of all of them is the Uni Sushi that cost 10$ each piece. Don’t let the reviews fool you, the prices of the dishes was so insane and the portion size was small aswell, the only dishes that had decent position size and that was delicious was the fried rice and the noodle dish called Short Rib Yaki. Overall, the restaurant is way way to expensive for such small portions size and how much they charging for each dish, they better be paying the...
Read moreThis is the first time in my experience that reviews do not correspond at all to the quality and level of the restaurant and food. The first impression is when we entered the restaurant - the smell was very terrible and the smell was as if you entered a cheap cafe. There were 7 of us and the table was booked for 4 pm, we made an order 10 minutes after we arrived and the first courses (miso soup, octopus carpaccio and salmon) we waited for an hour, and the mice were brought to us after 1.5 hours, although there were very few people in the restaurant at that time. A big plus of this cafe is the wine list, but the cost is very high for everything, and this does not correspond to the level of the restaurant, because all the tables are scuffed and with broken corners, chipped dishes that were served to both adults and a child. The octopus is of terrible quality, sushi look at the photos, it looks like my grandmother took them at home. as if you are eating vinegar and artichokes, the sliced salmon that was served to us was defrosted and of terrible quality. But the Miso soup here is delicious, but it is definitely not worth $7. So we were billed $636 and I have a question? For what? Why should I pay so much money for street bistro-level food! I categorically do not recommend...
Read moreI just want to thank the staff at Makoto for being sympathetic to my family and providing us with amazing customer service and an excellent dining experience. It's not a family restaurant as they don't have high-chairs but they won't turn you away for having a tot. We came in around 5ish for an early dinner and our daughter had just fallen asleep. We thought that we could bribe her to stay up but she wouldn't budge so they moved our table outside where she had a comfortable bench to sleep. About five minutes in, torrential rain hit and they moved us back in and we did not sense a hint of frustration. Everyone from the managers, the hosts to our two waiters (one was off and another had to take over) were 100% sympathetic to our needs. The carpaccio de res was good, the sake was good, and we had the nigiri chef special. They called us taxi and walked us out. If you don't have kids and plan to come in for a later dinner, do make reservations. My husband and I look forward to returning. Oh yeah, and the deco inside...
