This restaurant was such an experience I can’t even explain it fully but wow I loved it. This review is long because I am still obsessed. If nothing else was going to bring me back to Panama — this restaurant is.
I found the restaurant through Google maps because we needed a place that could accommodate a group of 10. Within 10 mins of sending the reservation, we got a confirmation and as soon as we got out the Uber, we were at our table. We were seated outside and had a lovely view of the restaurant. Our group was large so there was a bit of a wait, but they provided entertainment in between and it actually did make the time go by quickly. The magician came over to help us pass the time back and he was very engaging! It was fun for all of us. I think when places have entertainment or gimmicks, it comes off as though they’re trying to distract you from the food so you think it’s better than it is. But the food and drinks were incredible and the drinks were incredible so it was just making the experience even better.
My drink (Dulce Tentación) was FANTASTIC. It was a drink and a sorbet — phenomenal. If they bottled it up and sold it in stores, I’d buy it. If they put that sorbet in a container and sold it in stores, I’d also buy it. It was just that good.
When the food came out it was also so good! I ordered the Salmon a la Plancha. The salmon was cooked perfectly and had a beautifully crispy skin. The potato purée was silky smooth, and the vegetables were cooked just right.
The only thing I didn’t love was the brownie but it was still very good. I think I would order it again. It just wasn’t as fudgey as I like my brownies.
Overall I had an incredible experience at this restaurant. I can’t recommend this place enough. The ambiance is great, the food is great, the staff is great. I just...
Read moreGreat little restaurant in the old part of Panama city near presidential palace. The area looks much like New Orleans with wrought iron balconies and 1800s architecture. This restaurant has outdoor seating in a park like area, but we chose to dine inside where there's air conditioning. Lucas, our server, did a great job and, bonus, spoke good English which made it easier for us Americans to order. The food was quite good, the only flaws being too much pepper in my salad, and an extremely small serving of hubby's delicious gniocchi. Friend's veggie burger was just right, as was the yummy tres leches dessert the three of us shared. (It's not real large, but we only wanted a taste) The menu has a nice variety to suit nearly any taste. Atmosphere was warm and appealing. One word of caution...don't even try to drive yourself in Panama city! Hire a driver, it's worth it for your safety and sanity! Traffic laws are taken as a mere suggestion and largely ignored. Traffic is heavy and is an alarmingly chaotic free-for-all...cars heedlessy dart into oncoming traffic, regardless of whose turn it is. In the old districts streets are extremely narrow, and crowded with vehicles and pedestrians. Driving is not for the faint of heart, it's more like playing a wildly berserk game of...
Read moreAbsolutely wonderful. Our server Daniella was spectacular. The ambiance was beautiful and the efood and drinks were delicious! The server was very attentive and helpful with recommendations. We all ordered a drink: sweet temptation, Julia, Casablanca and the gin bit. All were so delicious and beautiful crafted. For the food we ordered: peppercorn steak: tender, juicy and full of delicious flavor; the chicken roulette: juicy, packed with flavor and the risotto was melt in your mouth delicious; robalo al graten with shrimp: full of flavor, the fish was cooked perfectly; and lastly the paella san felipe: you could taste the curry flavors, it was very yummy. Of course we had to get dessert, we tried the deconstructed passion fruit cheesecake, very light, refreshing and full of flavor. The creme brulee, perfectly baked. And the tres leches, had a fruit spin to it, so tropical and delicious. All the food was very light, so we didn't feel stuffed after. Everything was very delicious and beautifully...
