My partner and I decided to try Casa Catedral today. Located on a quiet side street near the Canal Museum, it provides a unique atmosphere blending a museum with a restaurant. Our waiter seated us promptly, provided us with the menu, and was attentive throughout our meal. We started with two cocktails that seemed to be a bit on the pricey side ($12), although when we saw their creativity we understood why. Kudos to the mixologist. My meal of grilled octopus on a bed of mashed potatoes looked appealing and tasted even better. The octopus was the most tender I have had in Panama City. My partner’s meal of salmon and asparagus was equally tasty, with the salmon grilled to perfection. We ended the meal with a creamy slice of warm cheesecake with berry sauce. Sublime. The place has a couple of vintage cars, but some are literally right next to tables, so you can't take photos or really appreciate them unless there's no one next to them. The restaurant is a bit narrow since half is open-air and half is enclosed with air conditioning.

Read moreTucked away in the heart of Panama, this restaurant is truly a time capsule, filled with antique cars, vintage décor, and a nostalgic charm that transports you to another era. From the moment we walked in, the service was absolutely top-notch, warm, attentive, and personal.
But the real star of the show? The drinks. Gabriel, the mixology maestro, is a true artist. Every cocktail was not just a drink, but an experience, crafted with intention, presented with flair, and served with a story. It’s mixology elevated to an art form.
