this is the worst chinese restaurant i have ever eaten in. Too much pretension, too much salt (boy were the dishes salty!), too much haste (the waiters couldn't wait till i finished, they removed my plate from me even before i finished the first one, then shoved the fruit dessert in front of me), too much cost, and too much being treated like a number. There were only a few tables occupied, the restaurant was 3/4 empty, but the waiter somehow kept trying to hurry me up by removing the first plate i was eating from, then the second plate, and so on, and he even removed a plate that was in the middle of table that i wanted to finish without asking if anyone was finished first. The whole process was so quick i didn't even have the chance to say -wait! i haven't finished yet! And boy, were the dishes drenched in salt, the langoustina was deep fried in salt, it was uneatable, the other dishes were so salty i had problems eating them. The reason i did not say anything was i was a guest of a friend who brought me here, so i did not want to say anything bad about the invitation. But i will never...
Read moreI’m not sure if these reviews are old or inaccurate and are just before the pandemic, but the food was terrible. I wouldn’t barely call it dim sum. I’m fact after trying the siu mai and the hao gao I decided to cut my planned orders in half eat a bit of what I ordered and pay the bill. Har gao was clearly from frozen, mushy and a bit fishy and bad quality. I’ve had dim sum around the world, this was one of the worst I’ve had. I’ve never left that quickly in my life. I hope it was just a one off, but I doubt it. Unfortunately it doesn’t seem as if Panama has good Cantonese style Chinese food or Dim Sum. If you must, Lung Fung is a better choice, but I ended up looking for a new restaurant after going there which is how I ended up here. Take it for...
Read moreI had heard a tale of a Golden Unicorn deep in the heart of Panama City. Rumor had it that this was the best Chinese restaurant in all of Panama, possibly even Central America, or even the whole entire world. I had to try it. I traveled many miles to come to this restaurant today and sample its delicacies. I ordered the legendary wonton soup, some pork and veggie dumplings, and the Pork Ginger Scallion Lo Mein.
Hands down this is some of the best Chinese food I’ve ever had. I would come back to Panama just to bring my friends here. I was not prepared for the rich flavors, nutritious combinations, and generous portions that graced my plate.
Long live the...
