La Vespa Vista Mare — Restaurant in San Francisco

La Vespa has two locations and after dinning at their Obario location last week, we decided to try the Vista Mare location. The Vista Mare is located on the Pacific Ocean and has fantastic views of the water. There are not many quality restaurants located on the water and this location truly delivers very amazing food with a gorgeous view.

This is some of the most authentic Italian food you'll find in Panama City and the best part is they have two locations to choose from.

La Vespa Vista Mare is located at the JW Marriott Hotel, which is suppose to be the nicest hotel in all of Panama. We ate at the La Vespa Obario location a week ago and had a fantastic meal. We moved to this hotel and we knew we had to dine at La Vespa again.

The kitchen on the sea is run by the talented Chef Mauro Clementi. What makes both La Vespa locations so delicious is they make fresh homemade pasta as well as perfectly cooked pizzas plus they utilizes fresh local ingredients and seafood. I was intrigued that they didn't have lobster the night we dined here because the seas were rough near the San Blas Islands. That is how eating local and sustainable works. Mother Nature can dictate what's on the menu.

My wife ordered the salmon Caesar salad and it was wonderful. The fish was of the freshest quality. The dressing was fantastic with just the right amount of anchovy. I also can't remember the last time I had croutons that were that good.

We were also greeted with a welcome rice ball at the table. I love how La Vespa greets its diners with a free treat.

Our daughter had pizza Margarita for her meal at the other location and we decided to order it for the whole table to enjoy. This was a perfect starter for the table. Our little one had the lasagna for dinner and it was really delicious.

I really love fresh house made pasta with clams, so I had to order the fantastic Vongolea Versace again. I actually had this dish at the other their other location and I couldn't resist it again. when I saw it on the menu. The dish consists of a house made pasta with clams, cherry tomatoes, spicy red peppers and olive oil. I loved the spicy. This was missing from the other location and was a great addition. I'd order this dress every single time.

We are very happy we found La Vespa and we can't wait to come back again here next year. Thanks to both Chefs for two amazing meals...

Highly recommended Italian food with an Ocean view. La Vespa is located at the rear of the Trump Tower Ocean Club by JW Marriott. Upon arriving for our reservation, we were ushered in to our table overlooking the city skyline and Pacific. The restaurant is primarily outdoors (covered), dimly lit, and very quiet. It was a very warming atmosphere. We had the honour to be served by Guido, from Venice. You can see his hospitality experience the moment he starts talking to you. Being fluent in multiple languages, it was pleasant to be able to converse in our mother tongue. His timing and attentiveness was prompt but not pushy. We tried the recommended mojito and azul margarita, which were followed by 2 or 3 more they were so good. Pricing is extremely decent for both drinks and entrees. They do also have an extensive wine menu.

I went for the linguini con le vongole (clam linguini) and it was flawless. It had a delicate sauce, and hearty little clams. My husband had the mixed seafood spaghetti which had a great pop of red pepper spice. Thank you Guido for your great conversation and spot on recommendations. We will be back for...

Adding to my review below, I have to thank La Vespa for making my recent birthday extra special! When the singer called out my name to sing a special happy birthday to me I almost fell off my seat and then when the wait staff came out with tiramisu and a sparkler and sang to me again it just made my day and my night! I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant!

La Vespa is my favorite restaurant in all of Panama City. The food is outstanding consistently, the ambiance with the open air feel and view out over the Pacific is unbeatable and the service is always top-notch, something that is not easy to find there. Nothing beats a ribeye gigante and a bottle of good red wine in a table next to the sea if you’re in the mood for romance!
