What a great bakery/cafe!! I stopped in for breakfast and coffee. Absolutely one of my best stops during my two weeks in Peru! Highly recommend!
The service was quick and attentive. There is a patio area and an inside area to eat/drink coffee. I sat inside.
I had the French toast and a cappuccino. Wow!! Let me tell you — that French toast was absolutely worth stopping in for. It came as a large cube of bread that had been cooked like French toast, with a portion of syrup, mascarpone, and Dulce de leche. That Dulce de leche was absolutely the best thing on the plate. It was all wonderful though!
The cappuccino was the best I have had thus far in Peru. It was very tasty.
All the things here are well done. The vibes, the service, the food, and the coffee. Also, I accidentally knocked over a plant and broke the pot — I offered multiple times to pay for it, but the manager would not hear of it. I appreciate his graciousness and kindness. Though I felt like the stupid gringo in the moment, I respect his considerateness and...
Read moreThis bakery is beautiful and the staff are great, however the food is only OK.
We ordered the cacio e pepe eggs, the roast beef sandwich, and the croissant cookie (new item).
The eggs are cooked well, but there is not much cacio e pepe flavor, it is sprinkled with some cheese and pepper on top of Multigrain bread. They didn't use their special sour dough for this.
The roast beef sandwich is more like a steak sandwich. They cooked it Bleu and I felt like it was too rare (I usually eat medium rare and the meat was still a raw chewy, not a cooked steak texture). I sent it back and it came back well done which is too far in the other direction. The onions and sauce are good. (see the pictures for the soft and undercooked steak)
The croissant cookie was good and taste was similar to a chocolate croissant with more density in the middle.
Overall it was decent and I would consider going for the pastries/bakery instead of the...
Read moreAs a foodie from Melbourne, I’m rarely impressed by food when traveling, but Victor’s sandwiches and cookies completely won me over. It was, without a doubt, one of the best breakfasts we had in Lima! From the moment we walked in and caught the aroma of freshly baked bread, we knew we were in for something special.
I ordered the chicken Caesar sandwich, while my friend had the eggs on toast, and both were absolutely delicious. The portions were generous, and the flavors were spot on. We couldn’t resist grabbing a few of their XL cookies to go, which were just as amazing. To top it off, the R&B music playing in the background made for the perfect start to our day.
If you’re in Lima, Victor’s is a must-visit for a satisfying and...
