El Hornero Premium – San Isidro, Lima, Peru
In the heart of San Isidro—the polished business district where Lima’s power brokers lunch and linger—there’s a steakhouse that feels more like a temple to the gods of fire and flesh. El Hornero Premium doesn’t whisper for attention… it announces itself with the smell of searing beef that hits you the second you walk through the door.
The place hums with energy. Families in their Sunday best. Executives cutting deals over Malbec. Waiters in crisp white shirts weaving through the chaos with quiet precision. The décor leans classic Latin steakhouse—heavy wood, chandeliers, and the kind of old-world warmth that makes you feel like time slows down the moment you sit.
Even when every table is full—and it often is—the service stays sharp, composed, and genuinely kind. No pretense. Just professionals who know their craft.
Start with the chorizo. Juicy, rustic, unapologetic. Then maybe the mushrooms in that creamy, herby sauce bubbling in its own cauldron like a spell for indulgence. But the main event, the reason you come here, is the steak.
This is some of the best beef you’ll find in Peru—most of it imported from Argentina or the U.S.—and it shows. Perfect char on the outside, tender and buttery within. Each cut cooked with reverence for the flame. The sauce? A sinful mushroom reduction that’s rich enough to make a priest blush.
It’s not cheap, but it’s not supposed to be. El Hornero Premium is the kind of place where you come to celebrate life’s wins—or to remind yourself that you’re still living one worth celebrating.
Verdict: 🔥 The San Isidro flagship of meat and mastery. Pricey, yes—but worth every sol. Come hungry....
Read moreOverall, this establishment is pretty good. Great location, comfortable surroundings, and ambiance. Good quality of meats, but service was not at it's best.. considering they had plenty of waiters and it was not that busy last Saturday ( Dec. 8th 2018 ). The afore-mentioned were not efficiet enough in bringing minor items such as butter, etc. The reason why I am taking the time to be explicit about the details; is merely because I would not want the readers to think I am being biased and perhaps the items ordered had to be cooked and they were out of the control of their waiters. But other than that, like I mentioned in the beginning, it was a very nice experience. And this facility has a parking facility adjacent to the restaurant itself. Since "El Hornero" seems to be a franchise, I would like to recommend the location on Rivera Navarrete 798, San Isidro. Be careful, because there is also another " El Hornero " in the same District and just a couple of minutes away from this one; but it is located on: Ave. Dos de Mayo. Parking is not as accomodating as " El Hornero Premium " and from my previous experience there, service was not extraordinary at the...
