Perhaps the best seafood restaurant at La Punta, Callao. Recently completely refurbished, or rather re-build, the Rana is back in the game! It used to be called “La Rana Verde” (don’t understand why and when they changed its unique brand name). Even the waiters (some from the 80,s) have been replaced. We enjoyed the hospitality of very lovely and attentive Claudia from Cuba! Due to its very unique setting and good seafood it is worth a visit. Set on top of the ocean, it also invites for a nice stroll along the ocean front of La Punta. This historic district can no be reached safely in 29 minutes from San Isidro or Miraflores along the new coastal road.

At this quality, the menu is significantly overpriced. The servers held up their end of the bargain and offered quick and accurate service for our huge party. View is also great. Maybe just stop there for drinks.

I assumed the location had changed but the owner's response below tells what has happened. But PLEASE ... update the listing here on Google Maps to indicate that you are temporarily closed. And put a notice on your webpage to say that you are temporarily closed. I remembered your restaurant from my previous visit to Lima seven years ago and wanted to eat there again. But if I had known you were closed I would not have wasted my time to come from...

Es un restaurante ubicado sobre un muelle. El ingreso es por el Club Universitario de Regatas. Hay mucha demanda de mesas, incluso en pandemia, por lo que se recomienda hacer una reserva, esta se puede realizar por la página web y tiene como beneficio poder elegir en qué zona del restaurante sentarse (hay salón y terraza, pegado al mar, cerca al mar y en el centro). Es posible ir sin reserva pero se asignan las mesas que se encuentren libres. En caso de grupos grandes se pueden habilitar mesas juntas. La comida que ofrecen va desde entradas (tequeños, pejerrey, conchas a la chalaca) entre 20 y 30 soles. Los platos fuertes van de 30 a 80 soles, hay causas, ceviches, arroces, sopas, jales, etc. En bebidas hay vinos, cócteles, cervezas (nacionales e importadas, no hay artesanales) y aguas, té y gaseosa. Cuentan con postres. La atención es muy buena, a veces por la demanda el tiempo de espera es algo largo. Cumplen con los protocolos de seguridad contra el Covid.
