Timoteo’s: A Sacred Valley Revelation
There are places in the world where food becomes a kind of religion. Where the smells and flavors carry stories, and every bite is a passport stamp to a deeper layer of the human experience. Timoteo’s in Pisac is one of those places.
Tucked away in the beating heart of the Sacred Valley, it’s more than a restaurant—it’s a love letter to culinary craft, soul food, and high-altitude hospitality.
The moment you climb the stairs and step onto the balcony, the Andes unfold in front of you like a dream that somehow decided to become real. The air is cleaner up here. The view? Postcard-perfect. You half expect a condor to glide by in slow motion.
But let’s get down to it: the food. Holy hell, the food.
There’s a kind of alchemy going on in that kitchen. Every single item on the menu is a small miracle.
The Kansas City barbecue sandwich? As a man who spent time in the barbecue belt myself, I’ll say it straight: this thing is the real damn deal.
Smoky, juicy, tangy, tender—it’s like Kansas City got airlifted into the Andes and learned how to breathe thinner air without missing a beat.
Then there are the tater tots. I don’t say this lightly: they are crack. Golden, crispy little bombs of addictive perfection. You’ll order them thinking you’ll share. You won’t.
The hamburger? Best in the Sacred Valley. No contest. Desserts? Worth writing home about, then eating in secret so you don’t have to share.
I’ve eaten my way through the entire menu at this point and haven’t hit a single false note. Not one.
But food alone doesn’t create magic. People do. And that’s where Tim, the owner and chef, steps in like a culinary shaman. How Pisac convinced a man of his skill to settle down here is beyond me—but thank God it did.
The guy’s a wizard with a spatula, a maestro of the marinade. He pours love, precision, and a little bit of madness into everything he makes.
And the local staff? Warm, smiling, present. They make you feel like you’ve come home—even if it’s your first time.
Timoteo’s isn’t just a restaurant. It’s a ritual. A gathering place. A hidden gem with a view that steals your breath, and food that gives it back better.
If you’re lucky enough to find yourself in Pisac, pull up a chair on that balcony. Order anything.
Hell, order everything. And savor the fact that you’ve found one of those rare places in the world where every detail matters—and every bite feels...
Read moreAte here a few years ago, and the bagels are good ! Not sure if they make bagels anymore. We went for dinner Tater tots were good more like a potato. croquette.. luckily we ordered this as we really couldn’t eat much of the other food! I Ordered the pulled chicken barbecue sandwich! First of all, it’s not pulled chicken. It’s chopped cold old chicken.! The Sweetest sugary THIN WATERY barbecue sauce which really wouldn’t really be called a barbecue sauce was poured on top! Could barely find the chicken inside the bun, it was cold NOT HOT It was so sweet.! Really they should take it off the menu! They do not know how to do barbecue nor was it pulled chicken!! Chicken breast should not be served in a pulled chicken sandwich , it should be the thigh tender, and Juicy ! And really important to serve it hot !! Really super disappointing! We went and ate falafel after! My friend ordered the vegetarian bean burger, it lacked total taste.. was mushy. And my friend did not enjoy it at all.! I hear the meat burgers are good, but she was a vegetarian! Completely disappointed I think the food has gone downhill in this restaurant! Too many other good restaurants in Pisac to have to go to this one! Staff is very sweet, maybe lacking in serving skills as we had to ask for plates for our appetizer.
Excellent Bagels for peru homemade cream cheese was delicious & the strawberry mint lemonade refreshing and not too sweet !! The specials looked good with soups of the day & homemade ravioli. Was extremely noisy with pounding and open kitchen! Try to sit at their few tables outside...
Read moreWe ate here twice during our time in Pisac - and this is because we found it on our second to last night, if we had of found this earlier we definitely would have eaten here again.
We really enjoyed our experience at Timoteo's and the service and environment was perfect. We highly recommend to anyone visiting Pisac.
The soup was incredible - we had the Italian vegetable soup and it was one of the best soups I've ever had! Felt so good and full afterwards! The tater tots gave us a little taste of home whilst away - and the bbq sauce was really good!! There are good vegetarian options, including a veggie burger - I had the vegetable lasagne and this was delicious!
We had the pleasure of meeting the owner before we left and he was so welcoming friendly, he spoke so highly of his staff which was lovely to hear! Which is well deserved as the staff were fantastic
I hope we are in Pisac again to try this...
