The place is great and has a potential. Unfortunately, we didn’t feel welcomed. We reserved private sauna for 4 hours and hot bath was included. Firstly, after around 1,5 hours we were asked by the lady if we finished, so other guests could use the hot bath. Then, after around 2 hours of sauna, the host asked us to finish, even if we had 4 hours reserved. We managed to fight for at least 3 hours of sauna and only hot bath at the end for one hour. When we finished with sauna the hot bath wasn’t hot, it was actually cold already. We asked for a hot water in the bath, we got a bit that didn’t make the bath even warm, so the host said we needed to wait a bit to heat the water. After we asked again the host told us there is a hot water, but for another guest and that if we would like to have a hot water we would need to pay more and in general that he gets more money from the other group (there were more people than us only in two). So after sitting for several minutes in a cold bath, surrounded by people and children talking and shouting, it was enough. I came to relax and I got mostly frustration, problems from the host and lack of satisfaction. I could’ve payed 5 times more if the host would ask for it earlier, just to have a comfort I was promised. The host however chose to focus on another group, treat us as uninvited guests and gave that comment about the money at the end. I surely won’t visit that...
Read moreWe had an okay experience at El Huayllar. The garden is really beautiful and as someone said before, the place has potential. The hot tub is really nice and had a lovely aroma of natural herbs. However, we find it important to note: It‘s not a sauna in the original sense, it‘s a steam bath. Unfortunately, we also found the hygiene a bit lacking. We saw black mould on the inside of the steam bath’s door flap and you couldn‘t hose off the bench. Also, the showers to wash off the sweat before going into the cold water pool didn‘t work, so everybody was forced to step in directly (there was one couple there apart from us). Since it was pretty cold when we were there, it was difficult to rest in between turns in the steam bath or hot tub. If you go, don‘t forget to take a bathing suit, it doesn‘t feel very private since there‘s...
Read moreWe came for the hot tub, sauna, and cold plunge, but would absolutely love to stay here overnight! As soon as you walk up the road from the entrance you can tell how much effort has gone into to making this an oasis and place to relax. The garden walk is just stunning with almost any fruit and herb you can think of growing. I can’t even describe the delicious and calming scents combined with the sunlight coming over the Peru mountains. The hot tub and sauna were clean and Americo used a whole bouquet herbs to scent the water, all picked right there from the garden! Americo has really created a beautiful sanctuary (plus he’s just a great person who enjoys sharing his country...
