Via mare is something that I hold dearly to my heart. I remember going to Landmark in Makati as a child. I’d order a salted duck egg bibingka, my mom would order the cheddar cheese puto bumbong. It wasn’t even Christmas and I felt like it was. Fast forward to 2021. Things feel so different now. I can’t easily go to Makati. But when I saw Via mare here in Evia I was overjoyed! I loved how friendly the staff were. The food was how I remembered it and the waiting tome is just right! The ambiance was lovely and comfortable. We were lucky that live jazz music was playing right beside us! I highly suggest going here. Makes you feel like the pandemic isn’t real. But of course, wear your face masks and face shields! Practice proper hand hygiene and be safe!

I normally would order delicious homecooked Filipino meals from our neighbors, but none of our neighbors sell honest to goodness puto bumbong. So for 8x the price of what we pay our neighbors for a meal, we were willing to spend that because we were craving. And I especially like how they have an option to add quezo de bola shavings for it. Another really nice dish that's not usually available anywhere is the pako salad. I love pako. And I love it with salted egg and shrimp even more. We wish they would also have the option not to include plain rice with some of the dishes, like the crispy tilapia because we really wanted to pair that with the tuyo fried rice. Service was really nice, the staff are great.

Food - the merienda foods (ginataan, palitaw, puto bumbong, tofu) we ordered are decent (as how it should taste). However the tortang alimango has small bits of shell in it, making chewing a bit unpleasant. The food taste is for those with healthy palate, and not flavorful preference. The price is pricier than that that of Goldilocks and somewhat similar to Max’s. Service is excellent. Orders were taken right away, orders delivered within reasonable time, and staff assigned is keen to our few calls. Atmosphere is not boring and a bit traditional homey vibe. It has seats for small and bigger group.

Via Mare at Evia Mall provided the most wonderful setting for a truly special family milestone: celebrating my beloved mother's 77th birthday. This restaurant holds a deep place in her heart, having been her absolute favorite since the 1980s, and it was beautiful to bring that cherished history into a new chapter. The classic Filipino dishes lived up to their legendary reputation. The centerpiece, of course, was their famous Bibingka with Salted Egg. It arrived hot, perfectly sweet and savory, and undeniably authentic. The rich, thick texture of the cake, complemented by the savory egg, paired flawlessly with the excellent, strong coffee we ordered. The service was warm, attentive, and respectful of our celebration. It’s comforting to know that some things—like timeless Filipino quality and delicious memories—never change. Via Mare remains a true treasure, connecting generations through...

A Filipino cuisine that is known for their bibingka. I have tried it before and it was really good. Like ⭐10/10 good. However, when you are known for something and you decide to expand, it is expected that the other products would be as good, if not great, than what you are known for. In this visit, we tried some of their other Filipino dishes.

Sinigang na Hipon: Shrimp and veggies were good and generous. However, it wasn't sour like the typical sinigang that we all know. ⭐4/10

Pork Sisig: Crispy but dry. Not sizzling when served. No point in putting it on a sizzling plate. ⭐4/10

Pinaputok na Tilapia: Definitely a large-sized tilapia. Lacks flavor though, even the sauce. ⭐4/10

Staff: Very friendly and courteous. ⭐10/10

Overall stay...
