Watami Grill & Sushi Bar - Evia Lifestyle Center — Restaurant in 2nd District

This is my first time visiting this branch, although I've been to the watami before. We came in for lunch, and we were the only customers at the time. Our order took about 15 minutes to arrive. The food is quite similar to Yabu, with only a slight price difference. I ordered the katsu curry pork, but the pork slices were much thinner compared to Yabu, and other katsu places tend to serve thicker cuts of pork or chicken. Since there were few customers, we wanted a water refill, but the staff were just standing near the front door, not paying attention or inside the kitchen. We waited few minutes just to ask for water. That's why we decided to ask for the bill right away — so we wouldn't have to waste time looking for them when we needed something.

I tried their california maki and it is quite different and delicious compared to others I've tried. The fish roe was real fish roe, unlike other places where it's usually artificial.

Overall, the store is pricey, but that’s to be expected. If I’m craving katsu, I’d rather go to Yabu or Katsu Sora. The food is similar but much better, and definitely much...

Okay, I’m a fan of Bistro Group’s Texas Roadhouse, and for a change, I thought of trying out their Japanese Restaurant, Watami.

I love Japanese food, but why am I so disappointed with the food we ordered?

We ordered the salmon stone pot thing, sukiyaki, tempura and calimaki, then citrus mango(?) for drinks. Everything was below expectations.

Salmon stone pot - WHERE IS THE SALMON? 2 slices of salmon, and thats it. For 600++; The rice tasted soooo bland, I needed to add soy sauce to atleast make it malasa. Ang konti na nga ng Salmon, wala pang lasa kanin.

Sukiyaki - so so, super konti ng meat for 700++; They did compensate sa dami ng pechay

Tempura & calimaki - mediocre at best.

Citrus mango juice - This is the only one na masarap. Bumawi here.

Overall, I wouldn’t go back again. Mas madaming masarap na japanese restaurant with the same price point.

I guess I expected so much because its under the same restaurant group as TRH

To be fair, service was okay naman. Yung food lang talaga ang ekis.

We had a bad experience here, we ordered 2 serving of ebi tempura, assorted sushi, spicy and non spicy ramen and California maki.. our server is Jayson, the food is okay, its not bad but not very good either.. my sis-in-law change an order few minutes after placing it, apparently they still charge us for the canceled order that they never served. We reach out to them and say that they will make it up to us, but guess what they don't allow refund! we live in Laguna and we had to go back in Evia just to get the order that they charge us. My husband requested to get a different food from the menu instead of the one that they mistook to charge us, but they still don't allow it.. what a terrible service!
