Takoyo Asian Noodle Bar, I can say is one of the 1st ever food stop where you can try different noodles coming from Japan, Vietnam and Thailand.
Apart from noodles, it has varieties of sushis, spring rolls, salads, takoyaki, pizza and desserts on their menu. (See photo for reference)
The place was neat and nice. Very instagrammable. People were accommodating. One of their chef also went to our table to ask us how the food was, and here's the recap of the discussion:
*food was good, in terms of good taste, but the authenticity was not there. So it was like a more of Filipino Fusion Asian Noodle Bar. Where they somehow recreated their menu based of Pinoy taste palette, which for us should be the other way around. **we would like to explore other cultures best food, so authenticity of the flavor should be there.
*thai milk tea is a must. The flavor was so strong. By far my favorite from all thai milk tea I had so far.
*sushi... so-so. Good but can be better.
Note: they are just a week old here, so be patient. And yes, there are plenty of room for improvements. Glad they were open for feedbacks.
Overall, it was a good experience and our...
Read moreThe place is nice and spacious. There is a passage going to tress pares. So if the place doesn't have available seat you can go to tress pares and eat takoyo. The place is well sanitised. They strickly follow covid 19 guidlines. They check temperature and ask for vaccination card. Kids are not allowed. They don't have ramen to go. They don't have high chair and don't have wheelchair accessible entrance. Clean and comfortable restroom.
Food is great. Their ramen our not overkill with monosodium glutamate. It has natural umami taste. It's a ramen that is much refined than other ramen bar at this price range.
If you want to try something different than the usual ramen like tonkutsu and shoyo, try their spicy beef just tell them to give it less mung beans. Side dish are also good specially their takoyaki.
Compared to marquee infinity branch, ramen broth is slightly different in a better way in...
Read moreTonkotsu Ramen - I don’t like this. I haven’t been to Japan to taste an authentic Ramen but if I compare this to Makimura Ramen, a shop similar to them, it’s inferior in taste. The egg is supposedly sweet with a slight bitterness. The charsiu should be subtlety sweet, but it isn’t. The broth is so-so. Ultimately, it lacks the umami taste/flavor. Thai Beef Salad - Thai food is a hit and miss to me. This is a miss. But I like everything that’s included in this salad. It’s the seasoning that’s turning me off. Yakitori - this one is almost perfect except for the beef. It’s generous but too bad it isn’t cooked well, it’s like a chewing gum. Lol. Overall, I’d say Makimura Ramen is way better than this in terms of Ramen. Not sure if their other offerings like Vietnamese Pho or Laksa are nice. I don’t like Laksa so I won’t try theirs. The money that I spent here...
