Boodie’s Bistro — Restaurant in Bacolod

The place was chill, a bit rustic. We dine last valentines day and its understandable that there is queueing, waited for about 15min. We have ordered in advance while waiting. We ordered, the steak, ribs, lumpia and chicken salad, we were told that the chicken salad is unavailable. Its just that the food were already serving when they told us. We changed it to fish and chips. Also im not sure why the starters and the mains have been served at the same time. Anyways the food was good.

Lumpia: Flavorful, i liked the goey texture inside. A bit “umay” if you have too much :D.

Ribs: The sauce was superb however the meat was a bit dry.

Steak: Local, tasted like tuna, it was good but a bit underseasoned for me.

Fish and Chips: I liked that the fish was not creamdory.

Overall it was a great experience. Reasonably...

Food was absolutely delicious however the service was very disappointing. We waited more than an hour to get our food. Only few of us were served plates and we have to request multiple times to get the rest of it. We also have to ask several times for the cutlery. We were only given 2 drinking glass and got another 2 when we're about to leave. The order was incomplete as well. We have to cancel those food that wasn't served since almost all of us are finished eating and basically can't stay anymore. We ended up sharing food so everyone can eat. I'd like to think it's just a staffing issue but with the lack of communication from the servers, I think it's lack of crew training as well. Overall, it was a really disappointing dinner. I hope to get a better experience the next time...

my new favourite spot in Bacolod. I am forced to think about this lumpia forever, it was a flavour explosion I'm not even sure what they put in it but definitely garlic and onion and maybe a bit of chili as it had a slight bite to it. They were right, you don't even need sauce! Also had the extremely tender tenderloin steak that just melted in your mouth. And the chicken salad - soooo good. a lil sweet as if they flavor it with some hoisin sauce. Was the perfect addition to our meal.

I can't wait to come back and try more!! Maybe even use their catering...
