If Bacolod had a culinary anthem, Chicken House’s inasal would be the chorus. Located at the corner of 24th and Lacson Streets, this iconic eatery has been serving up smoky, succulent chicken inasal for decades—and it’s still the gold standard for locals and visitors alike.

The star of the show is the pecho—grilled to perfection, juicy on the inside, with that signature char that whispers ā€œauthentic.ā€ Pair it with garlic rice, a side of chicken skin, and a generous drizzle of chicken oil, and you’ve got a plate that’s pure Negrense comfort. Their pork barbecue and spare ribs are also crowd favorites, offering tender, flavorful alternatives for those who want to mix things up.

Despite its no-frills setup, Chicken House delivers where it counts: fast service, clean surroundings, and a warm, familiar vibe. It’s the kind of place where families gather, balikbayans return, and first-time visitors get their first real taste of Bacolod’s culinary soul. Even friends from Manila reportedly take takeout packs back home—it’s that good.

Whether you’re here for lunch, dinner, or a late-night craving, Chicken House doesn’t just serve food—it serves tradition. And in a city known for its flavors, this place remains a...

The Chicken House inasal (chicken barbecue) has a distinct taste that keeps it apart from any other inasal in Bacolod or Negros Occidental. It is less greasy without being dry. Even if it is marinated, the flavor of ingredients is imperceptible save for the salt. Its slightly briny taste is an honest chicken taste. An ash taste of its overdone portions of its skin is a negligible inconvenience for a well done grilling that leaves no red pigmentation near the bones as proof of a not thoroughly cooked portion of meat. Extra flavor comes handy with the "sawsawan" composed of "patis" (soy sauce), "sinamak" (vinegar with pepper) and calamansi. While I do eat this inasal with rice and sawsawan, I like to eat the leftover meat (after the rice is consumed) to its bare essential, meaning without the...

The place was almost full when I came for lunch, but I managed to get a table right away. The waiter took my order instantly, and the serving time was quite fast—though I didn’t really keep track since I was busy on my phone.

When my order arrived, I was pleasantly surprised. I had pecho and pork barbecue, and the taste was unexpectedly good—different from what I’m used to. I couldn’t quite pinpoint what made it so delicious, but I’m guessing it had something to do with their chicken oil, which had a nutty flavor.

The meal was definitely worth it and very affordable. I stumbled upon this place by accident since my first choice was closed, but it turned out to be a happy accident. I’m so glad I...

One of my few favorite chicken inasal restaurants in Bacolod City. I even brought to this resto my friends from Bonifacio Global City who are first time visitors in Bacolod and were looking for the famous chicken inasal restaurants to dine. Thereafter, everytime my friends from BGC visit Bacolod, they always go to this place to eat and to order take outs to bring to Manila! It is really good that this chicken resto can pack the take out very well, even to bring to Manila. Their chicken inasal like pecho, paa, and isol are succulent and juicy, the best in town. Their chicken skin are also crispy and tasty.
