Maria Kucina Familia – A Taste of Tradition, A Touch of Elegance Maria Kucina Familia isn’t just a restaurant—it’s a love letter to Filipino heritage, served on a plate. Tucked behind Tire Haus and Sky Cable along 24th Lacson Street, this charming spot feels like stepping into a well-kept ancestral home, lovingly converted into a fine dining experience. The ambiance is warm and nostalgic, with vintage touches and quiet corners perfect for family gatherings, romantic dinners, or solo soul-feeding moments.
The menu is a celebration of Filipino-Spanish flavors, elevated with finesse. Their ox tongue, kare-kare, and chicken relleno are standouts—tender, flavorful, and beautifully plated. The callos con garbanzos and bacalao offer rich, comforting depth, while lighter bites like bruschetta and nacho grande add playful contrast. And don’t skip dessert—their churros con chocolate and homemade ice cream are indulgent without being over the top.
Service is consistently warm and attentive, with staff who make you feel like a welcome guest rather than just a customer. Prices are reasonable for the quality and experience, making it an ideal spot for special occasions or spontaneous indulgence.
Maria Kucina Familia doesn’t just serve food—it serves memory, meaning, and a sense of belonging. In a city full of culinary gems, this one glows with...
Read moreThis place has so much potential to be so much better. Our second visit last night for my wife's birthday. Sat outside. Chairs are uncomfortable and do not fit the tables well. We ordered a blue cheese salad to share. Where was the blue cheese??? It was not in the salad. I ordered the ossobuco, beef shank with vegetables. Where were the vegetables?? Even a couple of carrots would have been a nice touch and improved the presentation. The meal was tasty. Wife ordered the blue marlin (her fav) and it was also tasty. But here is the issue: my main course came before we had finished the salad. And my wife's meal came AFTER I had finished my meal. Same issue first visit. I thought it was because they were busy so we came back for a second try. PLEASE deliver main courses at the same time. PLEASE deliver main course only after appetizer or salad are finished. We ordered a UBE cake to share for dessert. It was huge. It was too big. We late half of it on the plate (a waste of good food). We may go back but I doubt it. Too bad. Should and could be so...
