We chose the most expensive steak the tenderloin and feel a great expectation for the ribs. When food arrived, I was greatly disappointed. The presentation of the food was lacklustre. 1st things 1st, the white porcelain plates which presented the tenderloin and ribs looked very ordinary and cheap. The tenderloin was above average but the res wine mushroom sauce was too watery and lack depth and taste. Could not taste any distinct wine. It was amateurish. The side dish of fried sweet potato fries was fried too well done and lack its crispy texture. The portion of sweet potatoes was just too much. They were like thrown awkwardly into the plate and overshadowed the tenderloin. the small half piece of carrot was not of good biting texture alongside some asparagus. Not all all looked palatable. The ribs had a too good portion till my partner and I had difficulty finishing them. It had too much maize grains which covered and camouflaged all the whole ribs. Nobody could tell it was ribs underneath the maize grains. And the maize grains had caused the ribs to have too much a sweety taste over bearing on the simply sweet sauce seasoning. Nothing to crow about the ribs.
Though it was a fine dining restaurant, the staffs were too noisy chatting and talking amongst themselves. We could hear their conversations very clearly from our table. And when a order was taken, it was crudely and loudly shouted to the kitchen staff. We could hear very clearly the communications the waitering staffs with the kitchen staffs. It was supposed to be a fine dining restaurant in a top of six star hotel.
The staffs need to be re-trained to possess impeccable service etiquette. The management certainly need to address and reborn its food presentation, taste. And the manager need to train his service staffs or he need...
Read moreFinally had the chance to experience their "1000 ft above the city dining" through their 3-course meal. Ala carte options are also available though. If there's anything that truly elevates Blu Bar and Grill it's their impeccable service. We recieved absolutely warm and topnotch experience from their staff which was the real highlight from our dinner.
Aside from the stunning view of the Cebu skyline, the was equally great particularly the desserts. Their signature Tiramisu was notorious for being the best and I will agree that this is the best Tiramisu in Cebu. Mains were okay, they were not as memorable but still great. The ribs were more on the bony side but was really tasty. I also really liked their bread and the seared Tuna was really enjoyable.
Blu Bar is a perfect choice if you're craving for a great meal with a stunning view and...
Read moreMy husband booked a table for us for our anniversary last week. He made sure that they were informed that it was our anniversary. When we got there, the staff never greeted us. For a 5 star hotel/restaurant their staff are expected to be polite. The ambiance is great. It is really romantic when you dine in at 24th floor and have the perfect view of the city. The food was okay, nothing special yet VERY expensive. Took some time to serve the food. Customer service was not that good. We paid 7k and we expected them to serve us a very small cake or at least something that would say Happy Anniversary or Thank you for choosing Blu Bar and Grill to celebrate this special occasion. Well, I guess their staff was not trained on how to...
