Read moreFirst, this restaurant is located in a dying Robinsons mall. I was looking for another restaurant located nearby before realizing that it had shut down without a trace. With the low foot traffic in this mall, I guess Brique doesn't get a lot of customers, either. Many items were unavailable, in particular 90% of the drink menu.
I ordered the sausage chorizo pasta. The picture looked pretty good. The waitress repeatedly mispronounced "fettuccini" while explaining the options. She told me that it would take 20 minutes, which I think should mean that it takes some work to prepare. But when it arrived it was just barely hot. Perhaps it took 20 minutes to defrost.
The bread looked nothing like the picture in the menu. Instead of covered with baked cheese, it was actually a slightly stale white bread about half covered with garlic butter. The "chorizo sausage" did not taste like chorizo at all (either Mexican or Filipino variety) and actually was more like the balls of sausage you find on a frozen pizza. The sauce was almost tasteless. The pasta was carrying the flavor load in this dish, which is not a good thing. The only thing that went right was the Coke (the only thing I could order on the drink menu), which...
Read moreThis is the first time I tried this restaurant. Had high expectations. Ordered the briquettes chops. And what a surprise. There was a big blob of something on top of the chops, frozen hard. Ask the waitress what it was and confirmed my suspicion that it was indeed butter. It was supposed to melt all over the chops. Well that didn’t happen. It was still frozen, probably because the chops were lukewarm so I had it returned. I understand how it would be served but it just didn’t melt. Obviously frozen hard, chops lukewarm. And the last straw, I happened to glance at the service door smalll window. I saw this guy pick up my chops with his bare hands with a disdainful look in his face and tossed it on carelessly towards the grill. That really irked me and confronted him. Bravo! He told me they wash their hands! Wow. Good luck all diners! Don’t worry, they wash...
