We were able to dine at this ramen shop on our 2nd attempt. Our first attempt was postponed because they were already sold out when we got there. I do hope it won't be like that all the time.

Location wise it's somewhat out of the way for me. And it's located at the back of the JY Square Mall (next to the ramp going to the basement parking) or across Watsons inside the mall. Parking can be a tedious task as you have to go around the entire mall to just get to the basement parking.

Like other ramen shops, you are given a paper menu and a pen to choose your orders. You can order your base ramen and order additional toppings, sidedishes and drinks. Once you've finished checking or encircling your order, a server will come to get it and prepare your ramen.

We got the Fire God special and the Tonkotsu Special. The broths were really balanced in flavor but not that thick or rich as I would have preferred. Fire God on Level 1 spice isn't that spicy at all. I had to add black pepper to add some kick into it. I couldn't also find the mixed chilli pepper on their condiment tray which would have been perfect for the fire god ramen.

As for the Tonkotsu ramen, the broth was absent of the smoky after taste but nonetheless, it was really delicious.

Their tamago was ok. Soft on the outside and runny on the yoke. But it doesn't have a lot of flavor other than the broth.

The size of their chashu meat is huge! The largest cut I've seen yet in Cebu. On the picture, the chashu meat is hanging on the sides and reaches to the bottom of the bowl, hidden away by the broth and noodles.

Overall this ramen shop is a must try. It can be a bit pricy especially if you will get the specials at around 500 each but definitely...

The best ramen in the city!

Here's my presonal review of Ikkousha Ramen Cebu

Location: 5/5 Food and Drinks: 5/5 Atmosphere: 5/5 Cleanliness: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Price: 5/5

Overall Feedback:

The Location Hidden in JY Square, if you're not a Japanese resto fan, you wouldn'te even know it's there. But as it ia inside a mall, it is accessible and there's parking available.

The Space Well lit and uses wooden chairs and tables with minimal decor. The music is Japanese too which is nice.

The Food Easily my number 1 Japanese resto in Cebu City. The flavor sits above everyone else. You have customization options from the type of noodles, level of spice, and more. The noodles is always firm and I always choose the thin one. The pork melts in your mouth!!! Nothing like it. The soup base is so good I can't get enough of it. They also have this black sesame soup which is also flavorful. The eggs is the best I've had for a ramen. In every Japanese resto I go to, the staple is ramen and gyoza. The gyoza is perfection! You can taste the flavor and that it's fresh. Simply the best!

The Service The staffs are very attentive and greets customers and says goodbye in Japanese.

Value for Money This is an upscale Japanese resto but the price is so worth the food you get served.

Do I recommend this place? Absolutely! This is my number 1 Japanese restaurant in Cebu and none has...

This place has alot of hype around it, especilly with it being named best ramen in Cebu 2017. I can't say I enjoyed it much or would want to come back.

Negatives: Taste was so deeply average. Nothing about their ramen was done better than other ramen places in Cebu. Based on food itelf it just didn't cut it. The noodles were somewhat soggy tasting and the broth was not very rich or flavorful. Somewhat watery actually. I wasn't able to finish the portion but they said they we're not allowed to take the ramen home because it would spoil very easily and the soup would become oily and inedible. Wow, just hearing that immediately turned me off because I've taken home ramen before and it's great even the next day after warmed up. How is this different from other ramebs ? Why can't it stand being unrefridgerated for a few hours ? That was what really made me give the rating of 2 stars.

Positives : It has a lunch menu for more budget friendly options which is a good idea in itself . Also the kind attentive servers, fast service, and well decorated restaurant.

Overall: Every except the food was pretty good. But being a restaurant if you can't get the food right, that's a severe misstep right...

From 5 to 1 star, we lost the trip, we took a taxi and they were close at 7:45pm, out if ramen, kitchen is closed, BAD MANAGEMENT. UPDATED Sept 18, 2025 Went for lunch after seeing there good reviews, definitely a very good choice. Short but very good lunch menu. Ramer is there specialty, very good, if you are like me be sure that they dont add a raw egg. Cabbage and bean sprouts side dish is also very good. Karaage chicken is excellent. 4/11/24 Very good 4/14/24 Yes I came again and is fantastic! I went last night to another Chinese restaurant and what a dissaster and so pricey, dumplings and spring rolls were not fresh. A total rip off. You never go bad with IKKOUSHA, excellent food and very reasonable prices. I wont remove this review unless the restaurant takes responsibility for my transportation expenses 😡
