If ever you find yourself over at Il Corso ridiculously early in the day, Luminous Espresso Industry is your food, drink and chill savior. The Qatar-based cafe restaurant opens at 8 AM and as early as 7 AM on Sundays (that's an instant star for me being an early bird and for having a penchant for cafes that open early). The cafe is one of the new attractions over at Il Corso (quite far, I know). After craving for some early breakfast complemented with some seaside breeze and a picturesque view of the sea, I took the early trip to Il Corso via CIBUS from IT park (they have trips as early as 6 AM, thank God for these new bus routes from IT Park). The cafe is situated right next to the seaside promenade and provides great views of Cebu straight with some of CCLEX and at the distance, Mactan island. I situated myself on of the tables at their al fresco area which does get generous sunlight since it faces east and can get a bit warm when the sea breeze fails to show up. Good thing they have large industrial fans out to keep you cool though it can be a bit noisy. The interiors kept with the black theme with splashes of greens and faux foliage and tropical elements similar to their outdoor setting. It was definitely cool inside but I enjoy staying out whenever I dine alone. I had the Spanish latte and stack of pancakes. The Spanish latte was not to sweet but got watered down with the ice melting fast due to the heat outside (my fault) but still got me through most of my stay there. The pancake stack was gorgeous! Evenly cooked, mid-sized pieces with maplye syrup and strawberry slices layered in between. The strawberries were fresh, and generous. As a cafe restaurant they also had entrees and desserts among their offering. I wanted to try their panna cotta but it wasn't available for breakfast (more reasons to comeback on a different time). Their service crew were very attentive and friendly. Overall, it was a great experience and if only Il Corso was a bit closer to my place, I would definitely spend more of my Sunday morning breakfasts at Luminous. It's truly a gem that stands out among others for its service, location, offerings and price range.

The food here is consistently good — that’s the main reason we’ve come back more than once. Unfortunately, our recent experience was disappointing in several ways. First, the wait time was much longer than promised. We were told our order would take 15–20 minutes, but it ended up taking nearly an hour. If they had been honest about the wait from the start — even saying it would take an hour — that would have been fine. The issue is the lack of clear communication. We weren't the only ones eho made a follow up either; an older lady from another table also had to follow up on her order after a long delay. Even more concerning was the handling of food. Kitchen staff (and the lady from the counter) were handling food WITHOUT GLOVES. They were handling equipment and ingredients with bare hands, not washing them in between, and talking closely to staff while holding food near the mouth. No mask. It was a painful watch through the clear glass separating their kitchen and dining tables. It looked quite unsanitary and honestly took away from the dining experience. This place had potential because the food is good, but those concerns aired out needs to be addressed. Until then, it’s hard to recommend.

We were surprised to discover such a good cafe in the place where we are too familiar with in IL Corso @ SRP. Before, we just used to pass by in this area, but later did we know that this would become one of our fave spot for a coffee & talk. Such a nice ambience inside and outside. My apologies to all the reader of this review, for not being able to take a photo of all their menu, but I must say that they got a lot of eye catching & presentable dishes & drinks to select from. Another good point for this cafe is that they have a cheaper price for their good coffee compared to others. Just a suggestion, maybe they could change their music playlist at the background for a much better vibe inside the cafe. I highly recommend this one. 👍 We will definitely come back. ☕ 2nd Review: I brought my younger sister here for some brother&sister date. We had our quality moments together for some catching up & personal talk. It was a pricey one for an ordinary consumer like me, but it was worth it. Quality foods guaranteed. 💯 3rd Review: For our second visit with my partner, we tried their Blueberry Frappucino 👍 & Mocha White Chocolate (hot) 👍👍👍.

Had a bad experience with Luminous. We ordered at 8pm and it took around 30mins for us to know the machine was broken and none of them bothered to inform us and they just said “cancel na guro” so we said we just asked na e change to coke nalang instead and after a few mins, suddenly someone said the machine is okay na, mo push through paba daw sa coffee and we asked how many minutes mahimo and they answered “dali ra guro” so we waited again and after 15mins, niduol akong kauban sa counter asking for a follow up then the manager came and told us if someone didnt inform us about the broken machine to which someone said it was already okay. We waited for an hr for the latte and never got the coke. The croissant we ordered kay “hopas” na, wa nami kasabot kay lain kaayu inig ingkit. The manager offered my iced latte and was on the house as a way of saying sorry sa situation. Sayang lang ang time amo gi wait ddto and unprofessional ang crew. Maybe kay padong closing na or what na daghan kayg unavailable items nya kalit naguba ang machine pero bad experience jud. I’ll not recommend this place to my friends and family and will not comeback again. Need customer service training and management. Makatagam. Not...
