Had our terrible experience last time I was there.

HORRIBLE. UNPROFESSIONAL. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Me and my companions had terrible food poisoning most especially the most senior in our group. Felt so sorry to have recommended this place to them. We used to be regulars here but the quality of food and service has sharply declined since.

I reached out to their manager or supervisor and not only they made it difficult to communicate with them. No response was given until I had to continuously reach out to them (messages and calls) - there wasn’t even a prompt response. Gave me a “seen zone” (response)with my messages and called only when I started calling again and again to let them know what had happened. I wish I had documented to the very detail of everything because it was NOT handled well at all. VERY DISAPPOINTING.

We ordered the soup the sinigang - fish to start.

When they served it and we started drinking the soup. Sadly, When I started taking a few sips my companions were already half way when I smelled a bit “malangsi” (weird smell) since I’m more sensitive to smells. But the senior in our group ate a bit of the fish since she was hungry. Then she only mentioned she noticed the meat of the fish had a slippery texture and that’s the time she stopped eating.

So I checked. Not only did I realize it was reddish with darker colored meat it was also slippery / gelatinous on some ends.

We asked the waiter to bring it to the kitchen. what they did was they took the soup and the gelatinous part of the fish out (because they brought the dish back to the kitchen) and they just reheated it and didn’t return the red part of the fish.

When they returned the soup, it was reheated but obviously it still wasn’t fresh (they didn’t even bother changing it and insisted nothing was wrong - that they cook that dish that way in the restaurant.) - we even asked them to taste the soup from the served bowl - so they know what we meant. They didn’t do.

So we told them we would return it or insisted if they could do something with it. Afterwards, Two of the waiters came back and asked us if we wanted to return our soup and reasoned.

  • Because if we did, they will have to pay for it.

(Why was this even given to the waiter as their fault they were merely serving the food) the problem was the freshness of the dish and the risk to the consumer was suppose to be the main concern.

obviously this is from the kitchen and why was no one there able to handle the problem of what was happening.

My senior companions thought if the waiters had to pay, they merely make ends meet but also, we were so confused why it was made felt that we had to be responsible of what just happened.

So we decided to just close the bill and pay and since no one was there to handle the situation, we needed to go already and left. But also, we really insisted that something was wrong with the soup.

Not 2 hours later, one of my senior companion complained of stomach pains and stomach cramps felt like wanting to vomit. She then mentioned that it was the soup. She did vomit multiple times to the point of dehydration throughout that day and was worried to miss her international flight as she was too sick to get onboard the next day to go back abroad.

Me and our other companion had diarrhea for a couple of days and had an upset stomach.

Can you imagine the horror. Only to NOT get any response from the restaurant? - maybe just a late “sorry about what happened…”message reply.

Until to this day, this experience still haunts me of how terrible it was. And until to this day.. there was no response or even to get back to us.

I contemplated for so long to write this review but even after this time I still get flashbacks - I’m still traumatized about what happened. I think it’s fair to put this...

This is my 1st time visiting Parilya at Il Corso... Of course my 1st time as well to visit the Il Corso area. My wife and I were looking for just affordable eats in the vicinity but my wife wanted to see the whole area first before we dig into foods. As we get excited with "The Stellar" which is the dancing fountain of Il Corso mall, we noticed that quite some people had flocked into this certain restaurant near the dancing fountain and that's where we see Parilya.

We took the table outside the restaurant cause we want to have a breath of the sea breeze and we're pretty much fed up with air conditioned spaces in city restaurants and even at home so so we settled in and and thought of getting the menu so we can start ordering.

Food rates are quite enough to compensate for our overall experience with the place. Their menu would range from a la carte serving, combo meals, and even group meals. We ordered adobong nokos (squid), sinigang shrimp and baked scallops for our mains. We also have their fruit bowl (slices of watermelon, pineapple, mango) and mango otap for dessert. At first I thought the taste of the dishes were bland but I was convinced when my wife told me that the dishes showcase the natural taste of the food enhanced with natural flavors and not with artificial seasonings such as MSGs and the like. Butter has elevated the taste of the scallops with a little bit agar-agar (gusô) and spices on the side. The squid's flavor is dominant, so as the shimp's. On the flip side, my wife's sinigang is tastier. I wish their sinigang was a little bit tangy with either ibâ or sampaloc elevating that flavor. What's also glaring was how the squid was done... I would think its "rubber-ish". The fruit bowl is just adequate: watermelon and pineapple are sweet. But the mangoes both in the fruit bowl and mango otap were sour. I wish they could've tasted their mangoes before putting it in. The mango otap at 120p with only the condensed milk giving sweetness is a flop. It could've been better it was cream or just lactose-free milk. Nevertheless, I like that their service water is not a tap water (because it doesn't suggest any chlorine-like taste conpared to other restaurants' service water). Lastly, coffee americano and the kapeccino are something that I can recommend...good taste even without cream or sugar.

The staff were fine, but not proactive at all. We have to ask one of them to wipe the table we're at because it was wet from the recent rain.

The ambiance of the place is a plus for me. It is well-lit and spacious with long tables fit for groups and large families. The menu were available at the main entrace but no staff was there at all to hand these items or perhaps welcome the guests.

Leaving the place with almost PHP 2k on our bill is just fine but not really remarkable. I may come back to this place to taste other food items on the menu but I may not really crave to be...

TANGA, BAKAKON OG MANGINGILAD

arrived around 3PM easter sunday 2019. most of the tables facing the sea were reserved except for 3 that were occupied. the staff ushered us to the non-reserved tables far back. while waiting for our order and seeing one occupied tabLe checking out, we poLiteLy asked Jane, the in-charge of the restaurant, if we can occupy that tabLe so we can dine and enjoy the seaview. Jane mentioned she’d check first if it was not reserved. she came back, confirmed that it was and offered the 2nd tabLe that was still occupied. we agreed and waited. new diners arrived and took one of the non-reserved tabLe near us. whiLe Jane in-charge was taking their order (when there were waitresses Loitering around), saw one of the new diners asked the waiter if they can sit on the 1st tabLe we were told was reserved. the waiter agreed and willingly brought another tabLe, aLL the whiLe Jane in-charge saw all this happening. i approached Jane privateLy and reminded her that she told us the tabLe was reserved. her response was that she “forgot and did not have the presence of mind.” AN IN-CHARGE WHO DOES NOT HAVE A PRESENCE OF MIND?! AN IN-CHARGE WHO FORGETS WHEN SHE CHECKED WITH HER STAFF IF A TABLE WAS RESERVED?! there were only 4 tabLes occupied. how extreme a presence of mind will Jane in-charge need if there were more tables occupied and less reserved?! the staff did not know it was reserved... or perhaps it was NEVER reserved that Jane in-charge decided to LIE, DECEIVE and aLso DISCRIMINATE since we were the only ones who had no foreigners with us. how can Parilya restaurant and management rely on one person who is TANGA, BAKAKON OG MANGINGILAD?! I would not have reacted if Jane in-charge had not Lied and had the audacity to give me an attitude when she knew she was at fault! even the femaLe staff gave me the glare as if they knew exactLy what happened. to the Laguna group and management, you might want to rethink about hiring your staff. an utter shame on your part! compLeteLy ruined our easter famiLy day. our first and will NEVER...

This restaurant is one of the best option for fresh seafood restaurant in Metro Cebu. Located along the coastal road of Cebu South Road Properties. I had already dined in here along with group of friends and family members in 3 separate instances. PROS: -Has a really nice view of the sea -With available air conditioned and fresh air dine-in areas -Has variety of food choices in the menu -No wifi connectivity -Attentive food servers and staff to help you with concerns. They will even help you pick food for your group if asked -Clean surroundings always as the staff will immediately clean up the tables after dine in customers leave -Clean toilets and wash areas within the restaurant and the mall complex -Smoking areas within the mall complex -Has spacious parking area within the complex where the restaurant is located CONS: -No WIFI connectivity -A little bit far from the main business districts of Cebu City - this is located at the boarder area of Cebu and Talisay cities -Very limited commuting options - using private car or cab is a better option I definitely will go back here to get my cravings of seafood and kare-kare satisfied but only if I have the time to drive myself out there due to it's location. Regardless, the restaurant will definitely compliment the effort you put in you visit through great service and delectable food choices.
