Came in for a quick bite with my daughter at 5:10pm today. Barely any customers and roughly had atleast 10 waitstaff standing around. They sat at on a small table right next to the windows, gave us the menu, tea, and roasted nuts. We then waved to a waitstaff to order - he took our order, wrote it down, and repeated to us. Take note though as I asked him questions about the menu/food he answered rudely and was disinterested on serving us. After 15 minutes passed, we asked for a follow up and told them to bring orders when they are ready rather than bringing them all in one time. Then nothing… no one came by to update us or bring anything. Another 15 minutes passed - I was sure it doesn’t take 30 minutes for hakaw or some xiao long baos to be made… I waved down another waitstaff… to follow up. Then 2 minutes later another waitress came and asked us if we would like to order. OMG they didn’t put our orders in. Like I said there was no one there as customers aside from us! The waiter just laughed and then tried to put in our order - he looked like he did this on purpose. I wish I took his name but he was just having fun with us, having a good old laugh. We watched him way over on the other side of the room do this. Asked for the manager - gave him an update. Erick (manager) apologized but the waiter was just smirking and wasn’t sorry at all.
The other reviews here seems true - if you’re not Chinese service suck! We just left because at this time I don’t know if I can even trust that the servers won’t spit on our food before serving to us after raising our concerns to the manager on call. What a waste of time. I hope the owners sees this and reviews their CCTV footage regarding this matter.
We will just bring our business to other Chinese restaurants that treat everyone fairly and truly know what customer service is all about. Can’t wait for Din Tai...
