If you're planning a date, avoid this place.
Food: Battered chicken (285) not fully cooked, still has blood smells like it was cooked in burnt oil no seasoning, tastes bland sauce is just plainly ketchup
Ribs (295) taste like frozen meat, smells rancid sauce tastes like ketchup with sugar and pepper, nothing special It was shown on the menu that there was mashed potato as a side dish but we were not served with the mashed potato. Instead, just a small portion of rice. WE WERE NOT INFORMED.
Service/Staff: we got served LAST, and the staff were not attentive despite that there was a line and the customer before us got accommodated FIRST 1hr waiting for the food to be served, until the mall closed the bill and the food was served together, the waiter did not even ask if we need anything, we did not have our drink at the moment, but when we requested for the drinks we were told that there was no available iced tea and the waiter suggested the canned drinks, however after he took our order the waiter was called by the other customer and requested for an “iced tea” which they got served even though the waiter told us it was not available we lost our appetite so we asked for the food to be packed, not expecting they would literally just put in a plastic like it was for your pets to eat at home
Cleanliness: cockroaches roaming everywhere on the table spoon and fork were not washed properly, the fork still has a grain of rice, and the spoon has sauce plates were not dried or wiped and basically there’s still water on the plates along with the food
Basically, not worth the price and time. They charged too much for the food that tasted below average. Better to eat in the streets like a food eatery than go here.
We will not go back here anyways, it ruined our...
Read moreWalked and walked and walked again through the "restaurant alley" of SM Seaside Mall's third level looking for a place for my first ever real lunch in the Philippines after arriving the day before. We settled for this place for two reasons: (1) The "Fresh Catch Cooked Your Way" section really caught our attention. Inspected the many offerings and they were really fresh. (2) The ambiance was inviting. The furniture, fittings, and lighting, combined with the view of the sea, infused the place with an uplifting sense of airiness.
We ordered a grilled tuna collar (a huge one!), squid adobo, sinigang soup with four big clams (live when we picked them), and vegs pinakbet. (You could tell we were hungry.) Great presentation. Great taste for the tuna collar and squid adobo. Nothing memorable about the rest. Overall --- four stars for the food. It was rather pricey. Paid an amount comparable to what I would have paid for a decent lunch for two here in Vancouver.
The servers were attentive, courteous, and communicate well. (You generally get excellent restaurant service in the big cities in the country.) Liked how one of the smiling servers even offered to take pictures of us. My only gripe? Slow service, which is typical of restaurants in the Philippines. That is coming from someone used to the fast North American pace. Hence, I gave our dining experience here...
Read moreThis restaurant used to be one of our go-to spots, but last night was different. We arrived around 7:50 PM and immediately went to the ordering desk to place our order. It was 8:30 PM when we noticed our food still hadn’t arrived. Keep in mind that we had kids with us, and it was already past their dinner time. We immediately followed up on our order. When the food finally arrived, it wasn’t exactly what we had ordered. The dishes were mixed up, the calamari wasn’t cooked properly, and although we ordered four mango shakes, not a single one arrived. The waiter had gotten the quantity wrong.
We also noticed that we had arrived at the restaurant before a foreign customer, yet his order arrived before ours. It took exactly one hour for our food to arrive.
Never again. That was embarrassing and...
