Read moreThis restaurant is among the 50 franchise locations in 12 countries.that earned a Michelin star for its baked buns with barbecue pork. I wasn’t even aware it earned a Michelin star All I know is that the server mentioned a lot of items in the menu that were not available. They did not even have chicken feet! Usually when my family go to a dimsum restaurant we go all out, trying to sample almost everything on the menu. Not here. Except for my favorite sticky rice on wrapped in lotus leaves, the serving of which was larger than all of the dimsum place I’ve been to , my choices were limited to only two other available items as most of the items had shrimp which I am allergic to. The rest of the servings were small. I did some research about the place and found out that it is famous for being the cheapest Michelin star restaurant. Educate me about Michelin star. Is it awarded because of one popular and let’s say extremely good baked bun? The place was nice, clean and classy, and the service was great, and yes the prices were very reasonable. But my disappointment in lack of availability of selections in their menu makes me disagree.with the award. Or are they just resting on their Michelin accolades and...
Read moreCraving for dim sum? This one's for you. Prices were surprisingly cheap considering that it's a Michelin starred resto. I love their Spinach Dumpling with Shrimp, though they had to replace it with Chinese Cabbage since spinach was not available that time. I like their Wasabi Salad Prawn Dumpling too. A little crunchy on the crust with sweet, juicy and soft shrimps inside. Their Bean curd Skin Roll with Shrimp was savory, not my favorite though. The Pork Century Egg and Salted Egg Congee was quite good, but probably not the best. The Spring Roll with Egg White was unexpectedly good. Just wanted to be a little adventurous on how it goes with egg whites but I'm almost certain that I've eaten shrimp on one of it. Their Baked Bun with Barbeque pork was okay, not extraordinary. Though it's true that it really melts in your mouth, it was just not for me. The bun was too sweet.
I'm giving them 3 stars because the service sucks. This is plainly based on my experience so it may be a whole lot different for others. Overall, the food was okay. I might be back for their Spinach Dumpling with Shrimp. We never know, i'd be lucky and finally get...
