When I walked into the McDonald's in Moalboal at Gaisano Grand, the first thing that hit me was the smell of sewage. It smelled a little like an open sewer drain. I've been here for at least six months, so it's probably a permanent fixture. I don't know. Overall, this McDonald's is pretty much a cookie-cutter McDonald's with a Filipino flare. You can get gravy over anything you want (sulog), just like everywhere else in the Philippines. But get this: napkins are not free. Neither are the sauces. I think the only sauce you're going to get for free is ketchup, and you've got to ask for it twice. Everything else appears to be just like any other McDonald's. It's deep-fried or fried. And if it's not fried, it's probably double deep-fried. But here's the kicker, and this is where I really have to say, "Whiskey tango foxtrot!" They don't have fish sandwiches. Are you kidding me? This is a freaking island nation where everybody eats fish on a daily basis, and they don't serve fish at McDonald's? It's baffling. Aside from that funky smell of an open sewer drain, the McDonald's appears to be very clean. But you'll notice that funky smell all over town here, so it might just be an open sewer drain that they have no control over. Still, it certainly takes away from the overall ambiance of sitting down with a hot cup of coffee. Speaking of a hot cup of coffee, I wouldn't recommend it. I'm pretty sure it's just made out of local water, and it has a funny taste to it. I don't think they're using bottled water; they're probably using filtered water and all of that. I think it's got a lot of salt in the water and a little bit of a sulfury smell to it. I haven't tried it by itself to be a good judge, and I certainly haven't taken it and tested it for nitrates and stuff like that, so take that with a grain of salt. If I wanted coffee, I'd probably just go to the store and buy a packet of...
Read moreWaited 20 mins for chicken at 12.15pm. Then nuggets were cold and tough, fries were not even fully cooked. Coke was flat. A Complete joke and just as a suggestion. Cook more chicken as it seems every single customer orders it at lunchtime. Who would guess. Its not hard. I wish I could say its improved but was the same last year when visited also so seems the management there just do not care about or follow McDonalds franchise standards. Otherwise the food would at least be cooked properly and carbonated drinks would actually be carbonated. It asked below what I would recommend. In all honesty. Going somewhere else is the only thing I can recommend. 1 more addition. A 24hr McD that does 0 breakfast. People dont usually eat burgers and fried chicken for breakfast. Just adds to this being the worst MCD I have been to in over...
Read moreMost menu items not available. Waits were long. Couldn't order on the app. It is always more fun in the Philippines 🇵🇭
As there was no chicken available I based my two star rating solely on the Double Quarter Pounder test. Each country I go to I order a Double Quarter Pounder for comparison purposes. -1 for not having the Double, -1 for the beef tasting like chicken, -1 for the density of the bun, -1 for the thinness of the meat and bottom bun, +1 for freshness.
Perhaps better when there is not a national...
