AVILES BULALOHAN — Restaurant in Coron

It was a rainy afternoon in Coron when I searched for good, budget friendly comfort food. When I arrived, it was already closed. I rang the doorbell and politely asked what is their usual operating hours. Sadly, I was an hour late. However, luckily out of curiousity, the owner asked if I am a tourist, and said yes I was. He checked if there are still available bulalo, lo and behold there still few orders left. He opened the doors and served me hot bulalo soup.

An amazing Bulalo beef soup! It’s a truly unique local restaurant, open from 6:00 am to 2:00 pm. The staff is very welcoming, and the food is abundant and cheap. I paid 150 pesos for the soup.

I came here for the second time hoping to get another soup because it’s really good, but the soup wasn’t ready, so I got the chicken curry instead. OMG, it was absolutely...

For 425 pesos, you get 7 sticks of 6” lumpia, a bowl of bulalo with soup refills, 3 cups of rice, and a small cup of buko salad.

The food tasted really good, although leaning on the salty side. Very enjoyable still.
