We booked 2 days before to dive barracuda lake and 2 nice wreck sites. Staff were pretty nice but the problems started the next day.
My girlfriend was given a regulator with clear abrasion damage on the backup cable from being overused and not replaced for a long time. We asked about it at the shop and they said it was ok. But we were worried. On the boat we asked twice more to two different divemasters and they both gave the go ahead.
At 20 metres depth, 5 minutes into our first dive, that same regulator started to dump all air from the tank as the cut from the abrasion damage had a failure, my girlfriend ended up with 0 bar at 20 metres, we had to do an emergency ascent and the dive was aborted, absolutely insane scenario that could have been easily avoided.
The divemasters apologised and tried to play it off for the rest of the diving.
When we got back to the shop, the minimum expectation we had was that someone would come to formally apologise and talk to us, this did not happen, we were completely ignored and the only refund given was for the 1 dive and only for my girlfriend even though BOTH of us were on the same dive that was aborted due to their incompetence and outdated equipment. An astounding refund of 800 pesos.
It’s not in my nature to come to poorer countries and nickel and dime people but the minimum expectation for the gross negligence shown would be to have given us the dives for free and an apology from the dive shop owner or managenent, but nothing, something tells me what we experienced wasn’t their first time.
Equipment here is a disaster, wetsuits with holes, other people’s regulators going into free flow which they couldn’t stop, leaky tanks with bad o rings and leaking BCDs, the list goes on. The worst diving we have done ever.
I still want to thank Ronald the divemaster for helping my girlfriend at first during our emergency ascent and for making her feel safe on the following 2 dives in some beautiful wrecks even when she was hesistant after what had just happened.
If you still want to dive here, check your equipment and demand they change it like your life depends on it, because it does,...

Communication was an issue on several instances with Neptune. First when we were told that we could go tech diving for the next day at 1PM before being informed 6 hours later that this was not possible anymore because a minimum of two divers is necessary. Second, when we were asked to arrive at 8:30AM for recreational dives before being scolded for being late when arriving at 8:25AM because the tricycle had left 15 minutes ago.
This dive center is run in a professional and safe manner (briefing, hang tank) but expect to be ignored on board by the staff. This would be fine if our divemaster did not get upset with us after the first dive and kept snapping at us for no obvious reason. When we asked him if there was any problem the subject was waved off but his attitude did not particularly change for the rest of the day. However, underwater, he was helpful and efficient guiding us through the wrecks.
The boat used for daily excursion is very small. Do not expect to have any room to store any of your dry equipment or lay down to relax. You will be given a 1 meter seat on a bench and asked to store your gear under your seat in a box. Apart from one bean bag on one of the outriggers and a 1 square meter on the bow this is it the only area they expect 12 people to have lunch and spend 8 hours including surface intervals.
The manager is particularly unfriendly if not rude. He seems to be bothered by most costumers as he never greeted or said goodbye to his guests when we were at the shop. Upon return after our day excursions, we were told to "Wait!" to be able to pay. After 30 minutes, an erroneous receipt was presented to us. Be careful if you are using your own equipment as the discount is not automatically applied to the total price.
We came here to fun dive, we felt like unwanted guests waiting...
