Upon reading great reviews, we thought to give this place a shot... DO US A FAVOR AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. Service isn't great, at least you would assume so cause they charge 5% of service charge. The server isn't knowledgeable of what they sell, ask for a best seller, and what's her favorite dish (knowing she works there) and said she doesn't know. Even though they have a lot of staff and it wasn't a busy day, they're not attentive, and food takes forever. I understand the saying great things takes time, but THIS ONE isn't worth the wait. Here's our scenario... This time I'm craving desserts first than the entrée. We decided to do that and then order more food later on. So we ordered Mango Sticky Rice (that's a popular dessert in any Thai Restaurants) and Mango Graham. Mind you... we are glad we ordered sweets first cause they serve us a BAD COCONUT MILK! Imagine a milk that's gone bad. That was the taste! We even asked for extra coconut milk, hoping it would taste great cause you could NEVER GO WRONG WITH DESSERT BUT WE'RE WRONG! Uuugggghhh. Told our server about it, and the look she gave us wasn't very pleasant. She looked at us as if we were lying!! I told her to try it or ask the kitchen about it and taste what they gave us. Then she came back 5 minutes, and apologize cause apparently as per kitchen 'they put a lot of salt in the coconut milk'. That wasn't what it tasted like cause you know what's bad and you know what's salty tastes like. We just let it go... glad mango graham tasted okay. We were excited to try other dishes, but after we finished we just decided to go to another restaurant to grab dinner. Upon paying, she sounded like we still have to pay the mango sticky rice that really thrown us off. If it's a kitchen fault that they serve a bad food, it is not a customer responsibility to pay for it more especially if we didn't ask for a new dish to correct the mistake. It was a bad experience and we hope this won't happen to anybody. Have a great day and enjoy Coron.

We really enjoyed the vibe and tasty food at busy Om's Thai. Nice menu selection of authentic Thai food. Most people do order the Thai chicken cashew dish. We ordered a few dishes that included tasty pineapple fried rice, sweet and sour chicken, chicken pad Thai noodles, stir fried morning glory veg, Thai fried rice and red curry pork. The tom yum goong soup is very flavorful and creamy soup (and large bowl- you can share this one or make it as a single meal) with a sharing starter. Chicken wing and veg spring rolls starters are huge. Don't expect small portions here. Dessert mango flan, mango graham and halo halo were all very delicious. Price is very reasonable and there is live music with tunes sung to all decades of soft rock and current top hits. It's a cash only dining establishment like most restaurants so make sure you bring enough pesos on you or your buddies. I recommended ordering a bunch of dishes and share! Then you can try many different dishes too. Space is a bit tight. There is enough space for a large group size but there might be a short wait if you are a large group. Dress for hot weather as upstairs is outdoors and fan- cooled only. If you want a bit of south East Asian food, give this restuarant a try. We recommend it.

One of the restaurants you can find in Coron Proper. It's beside the main road. We ate lunch here during peak hours but we still had no problem getting a table inside the restaurant. We originally wanted to eat dinner here the day before but there was a queue outside the restaurant so we just decided to come back the following day. There are a lot of options to choose from. The main dishes are good for two. There is one server on the floor and a cashier. They seem to be busy that guests on the floor need to loudly call their attention when asking for help. I noticed also that they are overly friendly with the foreigners but were casual with the local customers. It is disconcerting when locals behave this way. They accept cash as payment. The food's taste was good, especially the chicken basil. The Thai milk tea was satisfying too. People usually just walk here as there is no parking for cars in front of the restaurant. However, motorcycles have some space in front but avoid this as you will be blocking the sidewalk for pedestrians.

I'm surprised by the number of reviewers that give this place a 5* and say how amazing it is. While it's a decent restaurant it is by no means great. In general the food was quite bland, perhaps trying to satisfy tourist palates rather than focusing on authenticity. I've seen a few other reviews stating the same thing so I appears this wasn't a one-off experience.

Our table ordered 9 dishes and I would only recommend three.

The good: spring rolls were good, crispy, and not overly greasy, and yes you will see that they are gigantic mango sticky rice, this is a modified version that is more similar to Filipino budbud sticky rice but it was quite good shrimp fried rice was good however there wasn't a lot of shrimp

The dishes that I would strongly advise against: papaya salad I cannot stress enough how little flavour this had.. They had to have left out some ingredients because it was almost a joke with how watered down it tasted pad Thai.. This is usually everyone's go-to but I would suggest avoiding it due to it being so bland. The chicken version was extremely overcooked and chewy so if you must get pad Thai I'd suggest going with the shrimp version fried morning glory was bland fried tofu left a lot to be desired in both quantity and presentation however the peanut sauce was decent the iced tea was the powdered variety so don't get your hopes up with it

Hopefully this helps steer someone in the...

We had dinner here the night before. Papaya salad, Tom yam gong , fried veg spring rolls & a order of plain white rice. Must say the taste of the food is not too bad and we were hungry so we finished every bit. We didn’t order drinks but the staff served us mineral water with ice. I asked about the water and she replied it’s mineral water so both me & my hubby finished all the food and also the ice water. The nightmare began at 1:30am .. we both had continuous watery diarrhoea and eventually we both also vomited. And could tell what I vomit was the Tom yam gong and all the carrots maybe from the spring roll. My food poisoning was so bad it lasted till 8am with non stop watery diarrhoea so was my hubby. The sad thing was the food is actually quite tasty. So I really dunno if the food poisoning came from the food or the ice ! Anyway, we won’t be going back again after this nightmarish food poisoning. The next day early morning we had a dugong watching trip but both had to cancel due to our bad physical condition. We were both out of action and just slept in the hotel room to hopefully recuperate and recover soon. This is not a malicious review but a true unfortunate episode we both had to experience and just in case I thought I should...
