We stayed at Brandon and Joys hostel last week, after reading some of the reviews below I was a little sceptical but so glad we did. ||We didn’t book and when we turned up it was late and they were full, but Brandon went out his way to take us to another hostel (one he will soon be owning) and helped us get us with a room there. It was clean, had air on, a kitchen to use, shower and clean sheets. ||Brandon helped us out with recommendations of what to do in Coron, helped us book a tour and sorted us out with lots. Also, he has the cutest kids you’ll ever meet and a lovely wife who makes the best veggie burgers ever. The family provide you with free drinking water (cold & hot). You do have to walk up a 20 metre ally way to reach the hostel but I’m sure, as travellers, we have endured worse than an ally way? ||Rum and coke night is a great idea to bring people together and socialise. It allows those travelling alone or in couples to be able to do tours/dives with people they meet.||Over all I would definitely recommend this hostel and I look forward to visiting the new hub and the new building when I’m back in Coron! Thank you for a...
Read moreI’m going to start of by saying this place is super chill . And me and my buddy stayed her for 7 days and had so much free rum and cola. The place is so social and great place to meet backpackers. And to all the people who complain please just buttt off the owner is a nice dude once you get to know him. and the reason he is not jumpy and smiling all u the time is because he is a human, guys don’t forget he has to deal with so many hard headed teens every single day and he has a family aswell and he has to manage so much that he can’t always be what you want him to be but if you go up to him during rum and coke hour and chat with him you will realize how dope the dude is and also to all you people who complain you are paying close to zero dollars and getting free rum and coke everyday. So......... stop crying. In conclusion it was one of my best experiences in the Philippines I hope to go back some day. And Brandon thank you for making my stay perfect. -...
Read moreIt was hard to find the place. You have to go trough a small alley. I tried to check in this place three times that day. The owner was never there. You have to check in in his kitchen. In the evening when i finally met the owner he told me and another female single traveler that he does not have any beds left. He told me that this would always happen at the weekends. He relocated me to another place. It was almost out of town, a dark room with 20 beds inside, the mattress coverd in plastic. I did not like the place. When i complained that i had booked a 10 bed dorm he told me I was lucky- the 10 bed dorm would be not as nice. |The area was very dark and i didn't feel safe. I found another place i could stay and left.|I have traveled for many years now in a lot of countries and have seen a lot of low key places. But this was the only place I left before even staying one night. |I don't understand why this place has so...
