What it has for looks it lacks in customer service.
You are charging nearly the same amount as some local hotels. It is 13 euros a night for a bed! This is very expensive in South East Asia.
I came here on the recommendation of my friend and the other high reviews. I can see why people like it. It is clean, modern it has a roof bar and it's the only fancy hostel in town so they have no competition.
What I received was an arrogant attitude by the reception staff. The first time I arrived I tried booking a room with my friend. They had only one double bed available and a double bed is made for sharing.
But not here apparently, because they are "special" So we moved on to another place to stay.
Second day we come again asking for a booking on the following day not the same night. They said they have two rooms one double bed and one king size. We ask to see the room. This is where I hear the most stupid thing I have heard in my life. You can't see the room it is full. We know it is full it is a dorm room, we just wanted to see the showers and facilities. No you can't see it, it is full.
We know one of the bar managers upstairs and he offered us to see the rooms. But after such an unwelcoming reception and made to feel unwanted we were not really keen.
I understand the two are managed differently and I had no problems with the bar when I visited there twice.
Despite coming to your restaurant and bar and spending thousands of pesos. I couldn't go to see my friend upstairs in the social area! I also have never encountered such rubbish rules. A hostel is is social hub and it's in your interests to let people come inside so they can purchase your drink and food.
I have never encountered such arrogance in my life of an establishment. They act like they are very fancy and special. With no other competition for a fancy hostel I get it, but you can't do that and expect to get 100% perfect reviews.
The Philippines is having rapid development. If the management does not sort it's self out with its customer service downstairs I expect one of the other local establishments to be number one in the future. You can only get away with what you charge and offer for customer service because there is lacking competition!
My advice to others is if you travel as a pair/couple book one of the hotels/inns such as mackys inn. You will save money and receive a much better welcome. You can always come to hop to use the bar and socialise with others. This is a good social place at the bar. But forget about sleeping here with these high prices and terrible customer service.
Fix your reception customer service and stop being...

I said I handed a 1000 as I had used the smaller notes for my first drink already, and only had 1000s left. And showed him my wallet. He then went back to the girl, and then involved the other bar member who was working the opposite side of the bar. The manager comically told me, 'two of my staff saw you only pay with 100 pesos. This happens all the time here, you've made a mistake' I didn't make a mistake at all. I believe this is a common scam on residents, tourists, or people who visit the rooftop bar for the sunset. Funnily enough I noticed their reviews section is not on their Facebook page, which I believe is because they've been doing this scam quite often.||Also, I was trying to book a flight to my next destination, and was having issues with my credit card. I needed to speak to my UK bank but could not as I'm using a Philippines Internet only sim. I went to reception to see if there was a landline available, as my bank would agree to reverse charge the call when I call the international operator.
