This was by far, the most comfortable bed in our entire 3 month trip around asia. In fact this was my favourite hostel I’ve ever stayed at. Coron wasn’t my favourite place, but this place made staying here so enjoyable. I stayed in a king sized bed, and it was SO comfortable, I still dream about this bed. The bathrooms were also nice, hot water which is always great. The hostel itself was absolutely beautiful, stunning pink flowers and white walls, felt like Greece. There was a lovely pool, lovely area to hang out. Nice little restaurant area, water refill station. You could buy cookies and banana bread, drinks and beers. They had a little cinema room and a kitchen (not common for hostels in Asia), it just had amazing facilities. And the rooftop bar was absolutely beautiful, such a great spot. LOVED this place. I will say that the staff were not the friendliest, when I arrived I said hi and wasn’t even greeted back, but jumped straight into the rules aha. But I can’t deny that they did do everything we asked, it just felt like we were being an inconvenience sometimes, or we were met with some sassiness, but the hostel was no nice I didn’t even really care to be honest. There are LOTS of steps up to this hostel, so prepare yourself for that. 1000000% recommend this place if you can stay here. Lots of little kittens running around too

The hostel is actually ok, looks nice with the pool and the rooftop but too many bad things happened. 1. I got robbed on the stairs between the Reggae Bar and the hostel. I told them but they didn’t offer any help. Not a free night, no help with the police, nothing. They just said the Reggae Bar should reimburse me. I think someone should take care of the getting some lights on the stairs. It’s dangerous. 2. My AirPods, shoes and cap disappeared. When I asked them to check they needed 24hrs to get back to me to tell me they couldn’t find anything 3. Before I went to the airport at 7am I asked when I would need to be back to be on time for a boats tour if I don’t get a flight. The receptionist told me 10am. I texted them when I was at the airport if they could confirm my booking and when I would need to be back. It took them 20 minutes to sort it out and just a few minutes before nine they texted me that the actual pick up time would be 9. So I lost one beautiful day on a boat and stayed in the airport instead. Oh, sorry, man. Very careless customer service.

This review is for the restaurant. Location is a bit on the further side of town. The view and the vibe is great, we loved it. There were a couple of item on the menu they simply run out if we had to keep changing our order. We ended up ordering the. BBQ chicken and fruit plate. It took more than an hour for our food to arrive, and yes even the fruit plate. We guesses it's custom to deliver everything the table order at once? But would be nice if the stuff would ask if we wanted the fruit plate first. The chicken was delicious however it was under cooked parts of it still raw which is a big no no for chicken it could have made us sick. We had to sent it back to the kitchen twice. Before we were able to finish our meal. The staff was nice and apologetic gave us a free drink, points for that, but kitchen really needs to be careful not to serve raw chicken to guests.

What it has for looks it lacks in customer service.

You are charging nearly the same amount as some local hotels. It is 13 euros a night for a bed! This is very expensive in South East Asia.

I came here on the recommendation of my friend and the other high reviews. I can see why people like it. It is clean, modern it has a roof bar and it's the only fancy hostel in town so they have no competition.

What I received was an arrogant attitude by the reception staff. The first time I arrived I tried booking a room with my friend. They had only one double bed available and a double bed is made for sharing.

But not here apparently, because they are "special" So we moved on to another place to stay.

Second day we come again asking for a booking on the following day not the same night. They said they have two rooms one double bed and one king size. We ask to see the room. This is where I hear the most stupid thing I have heard in my life. You can't see the room it is full. We know it is full it is a dorm room, we just wanted to see the showers and facilities. No you can't see it, it is full.

We know one of the bar managers upstairs and he offered us to see the rooms. But after such an unwelcoming reception and made to feel unwanted we were not really keen.

I understand the two are managed differently and I had no problems with the bar when I visited there twice.

Despite coming to your restaurant and bar and spending thousands of pesos. I couldn't go to see my friend upstairs in the social area! I also have never encountered such rubbish rules. A hostel is is social hub and it's in your interests to let people come inside so they can purchase your drink and food.

I have never encountered such arrogance in my life of an establishment. They act like they are very fancy and special. With no other competition for a fancy hostel I get it, but you can't do that and expect to get 100% perfect reviews.

The Philippines is having rapid development. If the management does not sort it's self out with its customer service downstairs I expect one of the other local establishments to be number one in the future. You can only get away with what you charge and offer for customer service because there is lacking competition!

My advice to others is if you travel as a pair/couple book one of the hotels/inns such as mackys inn. You will save money and receive a much better welcome. You can always come to hop to use the bar and socialise with others. This is a good social place at the bar. But forget about sleeping here with these high prices and terrible customer service.

Fix your reception customer service and stop being...

Hop Hostel||||Coron||||Beware of this place..||||‪745805010‬||||Stayed here for 3 nights, I can not fault the rooms, comfortable, private curtains, and even powerful hot showers, but the poor management overshadowed the entire stay.||I attended the roof bar on my first night, buying my 2nd drink I handed over a 1000 pesos note for a 60 pesos drink. I was only given 40 pesos change. (shortchanged by 900 pesos)||I immediately questioned this and was told I only handed a 100 pesos note. I asked to speak to the manager straight away. He asked the girl who served me what happened and she explained I'd only handed over 100 pesos. I said I handed a 1000 as I had used the smaller notes for my first drink already, and only had 1000s left. And showed him my wallet. He then went back to the girl, and then involved the other bar member who was working the opposite side of the bar. The manager comically told me, 'two of my staff saw you only pay with 100 pesos. This happens all the time here, you've made a mistake' I didn't make a mistake at all. I believe this is a common scam on residents, tourists, or people who visit the rooftop bar for the sunset. Funnily enough I noticed their reviews section is not on their Facebook page, which I believe is because they've been doing this scam quite often.||Also, I was trying to book a flight to my next destination, and was having issues with my credit card. I needed to speak to my UK bank but could not as I'm using a Philippines Internet only sim. I went to reception to see if there was a landline available, as my bank would agree to reverse charge the call when I call the international operator. She just shook her head and said no no no, I asked her if there was a payphone available anywhere or in the town, she just shook her head and said no no no, I asked if I could maybe use a cell phone to make a call, as it was so important, once again she just shook her head and said no no no. Not helpful at all. ||I also had a tour booked for 7am. So I was down at reception for breakfast at 6.30 am when it opens. I approached the cou yer and asked for an expensive full English, the girl looked at me and said 6.30 then disappeared. When I looked at my phone it was 6.28am.||The WiFi did not work the entirerity of the stay either, which again the reception did not give a monkeys. They also asked for a 1000 pesos deposit which was quite steep.||Besides James who worked the tables, and the house keeping lad, the only two people who said hello, the rest of the staff looked miserable, I would not...
