6th Republic Cafe and Restaurant — Restaurant in Davao City

It's as good as it gets as far as the Philippines is concerned and in particular Davao. However, it simply is not up to international standards. Foreigners expect a lot higher standard such as toilet paper in the bathrooms...., the air-con turned on when they arrive (the average temperature in most Western nations is less than 18), a cabinet filled with snack foods and healthy one's at that, rather than just sugary cakes (not everyone wants a full breakfast or lunch).

Spacious and clean. Air-conditioned area was too warm, making it unpleasant for dining in. I was assessing too much in terms of food taste too. Though the plates are for sharing, prices are modest, and menu has a lot to offer. Some carryouts of Mediterranean beef, Waldorf Salad, Amatriciana pasta, Truffle chicken fettucine pasta and Chicken fingers were not (too) bad. Would wanna try the coffee one of these days. The place is very nice, the ambience of the building is a mix of modern and vintage. However, my hot cappuccino was barely warm while my husband's iced coffee was not cold enough. The lemon meringue cake was okay but not outstanding. Maybe their meals or other cakes/drinks are better. Nothing really special in their food/drinks so far except for the place itself and the impressive collection of paintings. Not bad but well...
