I had read about Belito's in a food blog, but only decided to visit after the personal recommendation of Samal Island's best chef. Belito's Vineyard is actually located just off busy Laurel St, but it's rustic garden setting makes you feel a thousand miles removed from hectic city life. The restaurant itself is a simple affair with plastic chairs and wooden tables, not everything on the menu was available and not even their white wines were pre-chilled but the fact that they had some real quality wines at rock bottom prices, and that all the dishes that eventually came out were excellent, made you easily forgive these small inadequacies. We started with a nice chicken paté, followed by the delicious shrimp Kinilaw. For mains we had the squid in its ink and the one of the best lenguas i've ever tried. The only dish that wasn't fully satisfying was the lamb stew. The lamb was nicely cooked but putting synthetic cheese on top wasn't the best idea (very Pinoy style though). The homemade durian ice cream for dessert was quite sublime. Prices for both food and wine are very reasonable and you'd be hard pressed to find better Spanish-Filipino food in Davao, well, Tiny Kitchen is just as good but Belito's has a better atmosphere by far, and...

Belito’s Vineyard in Davao City is a charming spot that seamlessly blends Filipino and Spanish culinary traditions. Renowned for its signature dishes like the flavorful paella negra and tender lengua, the restaurant consistently delivers a delightful dining experience.

The cozy, al fresco ambiance, surrounded by lush greenery, provides a serene backdrop for both intimate dinners and friendly gatherings. While the open-air setting lacks air conditioning, the natural ventilation and evening breezes make it comfortable, especially during dinner hours.

Service is attentive, with staff known for their warm hospitality. However, during peak times, there might be slight delays, particularly when settling the bill, as the payment system is manual. Despite this, the overall dining experience remains highly satisfying.

For dessert enthusiasts, Belito’s offers unique homemade ice cream flavors, such as langka and green honey, providing a sweet conclusion to a memorable meal.

First of all, for a restaurant , I am expecting a decent private washroom. Unfortunately their men's washroom had wall urinals that were open that everyone who passed by could see!!!! It definitely did not match the vibe and ruined the ambiance.

It was also an open space dining and I would say it is not comfortable during hot humid days. Definitely not for a date.

Perhaps better to dine at night...

As for the food we ordered

Paella negra was nothing special. Not great, not bad.

Lengua. It's alright. A bit salty. Needs plain rice.

Crispy pork ribs. This one is a solid dish.

And ice cream. Supeeerrrr soliddd. Thumbs up.

Servers were nice.

If they have better fans for hot humid days, and better comfort rooms this place would be above average.

I'm disliking because of the confort rooms. But will come back...

We have eaten there many times because we love the food. However, on our most recent visit, the dining in experience was disappointing. Firstly, we were busy swatting away houseflies. We couldn’t enjoy the food at all. The flies landed on our food and drinks. The small candle on each table is insufficient to remove the flies. Secondly, there is no air conditioning and not enough fans. I guess dining at night would be better. Thirdly, the lamps above each table is dusty, so whenever the fans blew at our table, dust would fall onto our plates. I hope the staff will take some time and effort to clean the cobwebs and dust that are above the tables and do something about the flies.
