Before booking my stay here for a conference, I read the reviews and prepared myself not to expect too much because this is a basic budget hotel. I'm glad I did.
I always bring my creature comforts as a traveler; things like my own pillow, towels, toiletries, and other things.
First, the price is unbeatable. I paid less than Php6,000 for 5 nights. Their check in is at 3pm. I arrived a little past 2pm and they let me check in right away. They charge a Php300 deposit that they return when you check out. They also give you the TV's remote control.
Second, this is a dated 3-storey hotel and it doesn't have an elevator but they do have staff to assist you with your luggage.
Third, the rooms were surprisingly clean (I stayed at room 214 for 3 nights and 314 for 2 nights). One reviewer mentioned that the hot water in the shower wasn't working but I'm no stranger to hot shower devices so I was able to fix mine in my second day. I just pressed test then reset. The water was very hot for me (but probably just right for others) since I'm used to showering without using hot water. I was also able to adjust the temp by turning the knobs.
Fourth, their WiFi is a bit slow, but it's adequate for messaging and emails, not for streaming videos. The WiFi doesn't reach the third floor.
Fifth, I liked the shower stall because it has a recessed rack that's very helpful for my toiletries. They provided the basic soap and towel. There is no safe in room 214 but there's one in room 314.
Sixth, the location is very accessible. There are a lot of public transportation options right outside and it's close to SM Lanang. Roxas Night Market, GMall, Abreeza, and Bankerohan, etc are just a jeepney ride away. From the airport the taxi fare is ₱135.50.
Lastly, I'd stay here again if I have a event...
Read moreFirst i just want to share my experience in this hotel and inform others about their non smoking policy. Upon checking in you will be require to sign their waiver that they have a penalty for smoking in the building etc. Im very aware of that since davao is very strict about that policy. So when the time im about to check out, i went to the lobby and said that they will check the room first. I was surprised when they informed me that the room smells cigarette smoke and i have to pay 2,000pesos. They accused me of smoking inside the room with out any proof and their basis was by the smell of room. Take note im very considerate not to complain even their room smells terrible because my purpose was to sleep over night only (less than 8hours) i have to ask them to change the bedsheets, pillowcase and blanket because it seems that they didnt change it.. back to the policy, they said they have the right to do it since i have signed the waiver. My point is, its easily for them to do it to anybody, to any guest anytime they wanted to.. staffs and maintenance are rude and disrepectful. No proper customer service training. Manager/owner was even rude too. (Jj Tan,that's the name given to me by the receptionist because the manager/owner dont want to give his name when we talked.) They said that if i will not pay, they will call a police. Tip: let them call a police. Because in the end they will reduce the penalty. If you have all the time and not in a hurry, dont pay at all (if you know you did'nt do anything wrong) make your stand and it's ok if you will all go to the police station because chances are penalty will be reduce more. I hope this help other guests before checking in...
